David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Over the years it has become clear to me that David Miliband is a serial killer. Is it just me who thinks the guy has human bodies stuffed anywhere they will fit in his house?
The guy is like the terminator. This is purely speculation, but he seems so totally maladjusted and cold that it makes me uncomfortable when I hear him speak.

I liked him at first, but I dislike him now because I believe he is a killer robot. I don't disagree with his policies in general.

His brother is even scarier. His eyes could melt your brain.

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Ah the Millibands, slowly plotting their family coup of British Politics, I don't even want to think want the next offspring of Miliband will be like..

You are so off the mark. I knew him as a young man - he was warm and sociable, a very engaging personality but above all incredibly energetic. "Bushy-tailed" is the adjective the New York Times used about him today and that probably best still describes his personality, twenty-five years later.
Maybe some things don't always translate well on TV - reporters often say Brown is more of an agreeable personality on a one to one level than Blair, for example. I suspect TV rewards the "actors".

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Okay, I just wiki'ed David Milliband.
I still don't understand what is the fuzz all about. (Apart, of course, from those two girls David's got locked up in his cellar and his time spend in a Pakistani terrorist training camp.)

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Is he the guy from American Idol? I really don't think he was all that bad and I think he was sleeping with Paula which makes him OKAY in my book!1

He's the Foriegn Secretary, Hilary Clinton's opposite number. :inquisitive:

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
I always thought of him as a younger blair clone... polished, youthful looking and seems to come across well... similar views from what I know as well...
I feel honoured an American knows him well enough to consider him evil... I on the other hand haven't got a clue who the foriegn secertary for Belguim is....

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Bring back Robin Cook is what I'd say.

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Bring back John Major and Jack Straw. Miliband is ok, I paid much more attention to him when he was the new kid on the block. He sounded much more robotic and stodgy - but looked even younger, so it was pretty creepy. His is getting better, I guess and the greying.
Hey, remember when he was talking about a new EU world order spreading into Russia? That was weird.

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Fair play to Robin, he stuck to his guns and quit his job rather than get us into the Iraq mess. I think those kinds of principles and integrity are few and far between in modern politicians...
I could never in my lifetime imagine a Cameron, Blair or Milliband doing that...
Bring Jack Straw back ? I didn't realise he had gone anywhere...
-
Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
He probably means in terms of the foreign office, in which he has of course departed.
You are right though, there are not many truly principled politicians on the front benches of any of the parties anymore - the principled ones are stuck on the back benches for being just that. Very sad. The whole expenses thing is going to make it worse with more and more career politicians, sticking their noses up the leaders ... you get my point.

Yeah, er, John Major was a conservative PM over 10 years ago -Jack Straw is still a Cabinet Minister for the incumbent labour government. They were never in the same government.
If I'm honest with you, i'm not sure why you think they are worth bringing back, or whatever you'd do to Jack Straw for that matter (maybe like stale bread, wet and then pop in the oven for 5 mins?).
Do they enjoy a particular reputation out of the UK?
Major's major claim to fame (haha - sorry) was backstabbing Maggie Thatcher, shared however with the stigma of being at the helm when the last conservative govt tanked through incompetant administration.
I've no idea why Straw would be renowned. I mostly remember him for his perilous comments on Niqab wearing constituents...

.
I was pretty sure we were talking about Foreign Secretaries, a position held by all 4 mentioned individuals. Even though Major was only in the position for a short time, his overall disposition as PM was good, so I was insinuating that he would be great at the Sec State position, were he to return to politics.
I had no idea that we were reminiscing about dead Labour leaders, or maybe I did and put out 2 leaders whose records showed a rather stark contrast.

Ah, I betray my ignorance: I had no idea Major was a Foreign sec...

No, no -all are still alive. Jack Straw very much so as i said he's still in office -he was also on that Question time panel with Nick Griffin (see thread discussing BNP). Incidentaly, Straw came accross as the least capabale and articulate of the panel IMO.

I know, but the original poster was talking about Robin Cook, who is dead.

Re: David Miliband Will Kill Us All
Ohh the foriegn secertary connection went right over my head.. kinda obvious thinking on it...
And yes my principles comment was more aimed at the front benches of the two big partys...
