The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi [Concluded]
I noticed that my large game is slowly getting on top of the queue, so, to get into "host mode", I hereby present you :
The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi.
A long time ago, about two weeks, there was this unexistant Kingdom in an unexistant parallel universe, named "The non existant Kingdom of the unknown King Wishiwashi, situated in a non existant parallel Universe".
The King of this Kingdom was King Wishiwashi (go figure!).
But King Wishiwashi wasn't exactly the most succesful of all Kings. In fact, he only had 5 subjects and they didn't even know they had a King. They considered Wishiwashi as just another peasant living in their mini village.
King Wishiwashi wasn't very happy about it. In fact, he was upset about the matter.
He decided all his subjects were traitors and needed to die.
Rules
Roles:
1 mafia : King Wishiwashi
4 townies : "the peasants"
1 secret role : it's... secret!

The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi - Day 1
The peasants were working on the field when all of the sudden, one of them came out of his house, dressed in a robe, wearing a crown and having some sort of ID stitched on his robe saying "King Wishiwashi".
Everybody looked a bit surprised at him.
"I'm King Wishiwashi and I have a message," he said, holding an impressive looking parchment in his hands.
"No, you're not King Wishiwashi, you're Double A!" a peasant said.
Double A ignored the peasant and continued.
"A maniac named "King Wishiwashi" wishes to kill us all because we are traitors. For our own safety, we need to find out who is in fact King Wishiwashi and we have to lynch him, after a majority vote."
"Hmmm, it seems to me that you're our man then" the first peasant said.
"No! I'm not King Wishiwashi! I'm King Wishiwashi! So you can't lynch me!"
"I'm not entirely convinced..."
The peasants looked confused, shrugged and started the proceedings.
***
Day starts with a day phase. It's now day one. With 6 alive, it takes 4 votes to lynch. Once a person has 4 votes, that person will be considered lynched. From the timestamp of the casting of the 4th vote, the special roles have 24 hours to send in their night orders.
Posts containing votes may not be edited or the vote will not count.
If no one has 4 votes after 48 hours, the person with the most votes will die!
Role of the lynchee will be revealed in the lynch write-up.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Well that all sounds very wishiwashi to me. I don't think the actual king would be so blatantly named in the first write up, I at least give Double A the benefit of the doubt for now. Thus I say Vote: Diamoneye he already has that thingy on his head there. He might just think he is a king.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Always vote for the person who casts the first vote
Vote; Joooray

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
I hate when mods WIFOM you. I say they should be punished for it at every opportunity. So
vote: Double A
Unless that's what he wants us to do.

I'm so used to Andres' confusing manners in tCD that I don't really know what to do with this situation.
I do think, however, that Double A is the "special role" Andres mentioned. He must be good for something. Therefore, vote: Renata. Can't have Renata killing our only special role, can we?

FoS: me, for not being able to spell my voting target correctly.
You might be correct with Double A being the special role, Diamond, then again, the write up would make him a natural target for the king at night. I say we wait for at least a day before going after him, maybe the write up will give us more of a clue.
For now I side with you Unvote: Diamondeye ; Vote: Renata we can't be all voting for different people here. Renata, don't you know that you should never ever under any circumstance criticize or question the mods.

See, we have three possibilities here:
-- Double A is King Wishiwashi, and Andres is having fun with us.
-- Double A is the special role, and Andres is screwing us by putting that likelihood up in neon lights for the Mafia (who knows he is not Double A) to see.
-- Double A is a random peasant, and Andres is having fun with us.
You really think it's likely Andres is screwing us?

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
I should say that I don't. Which has the corollary that if somehow Double A is the special role, then there must be compensation of some sort in that role for the fact that Andres put a "kick me" sign on his back.
If he's not the special role, I'm for lynching him.
Which I suppose implies that I am asking for a role-type claim from Double A, only.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Hi, I'm King Wishiwashi and I'm here to kill you!
We really need to find King Wishiwashi before anything bad happens.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Well, all righty then.
unvote: DoubleA; vote: Joooray
Here's my theory, and I might be right and I might be wrong. But if DoubleA is not the Mafia (he may yet be, pending the possibility of counterclaim or night action by the actual special role, who I may as well at this point say is not me), then Andres' opening post would have implied to Mafia that he well be the special role. Or he could have been normal town, and Andres playing games, but the key here is that the mafia would know that DoubleA was town.
Given a town DoubleA, and a strong possibility of a special-role DoubleA, the Mafia has no incentive to make an issue of the WIFOM. That player already knows the answer. In fact there is a significant disincentive to do so -- if DoubleA does turn out to be the special role, if you question him, you look bad. Looking bad could easily get you lynched day one. So much for your plans to kill the traitor townies.
However, if some town does question the WIFOM? Well dang, that's a scummy move, isn't it? Trying to kill the obvious special role! Easy EASY rationale for a vote. Too easy, given it doesn't stand up to much examination.
Diamondeye and Joooray can't both be scum; of the two I think Joooray's unvote/second vote is marginally more suspicious.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Hi, I'm King Wishiwashi and I'm here to kill you!
That was very confusing Renata. Almost like a certain other mafia game most people are playing right now, which will remain unnamed, but on a smaller scale.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
It's not that complicated. Joooray or DE is high odds to be the mafia, if it's not you.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
I can see your reasoning, Renata. And I am not convinced of DBL A's innocence, but if he is the special role he needs a night to prove himself (if he has a nighttime ability). If he's an ordinary townie it's an obvious setup that he is "shielding" the real special role from attention. If he's mafia then this game is either really wicked or really odd or, quite possibly, both.
In any case I think it's fair to let him live through day one to be sure.
It seems as if he has to start his posts with that sentence... Makes it even more unlikely that he is the mafia (although if he is, it's masterly played). So let's go with "no lynching of DBL A for now".
I like your contribution to the thread more than Joooray's. That means unvote: Renata, vote: Joooray. If I am your 2nd suspect and Joooray is lynched, I'd appreciate if an eventual investigator could check me tonight. That leaves us off for a good day 2 if there actually are any investigators around and without your top suspect in any case.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
One "special role", one mafia, four townies. Exactly where are you expecting to find this hypothetical investigator who's going to make you look innocent? Are you sure you're not just talking for the sake of saying something, Diamondeye? Not to mention that your whole first three paragraphs is about a hundred words to decide not to do something that no one was currently advocating, anyway; or that what you actually did in order to second my ideas was to discard not Joooray's reasoning, but your own.
I think I might have picked the wrong one.
unvote; vote: Diamondeye
Now watch it be Centurion1. Or even Subotan with the WIFOM.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
I was hypothising about the special role being the investigator. If that justifies a lynch then I'm fine with it and I bet so is King Wishiwashi.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Well alright, lynch me, I haven't contributed as much as Renata so it's only fair. I'm not the king though, so it won't help in long term, but I'm not the special role either so the harm should be minimal.
My Vote stays on Renata though. Yes, you have contributed quite a lot, especially for a first round and I like your reasoning, but it's also a nice way to hide from suspicion against oneself. Just get up a huge wall of words and thus differed the attention to other people. If I should be lynched then I'd like the rest of the town to keep a close eye on Renate. Apart from that as I said I support leaving Double A alive for the time being, but also under close examination, but I don't think there is an investigator role present in such a small game.

Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Unvote: Joooray, Vote:Centurion1
I would really, really hate to be beaten by a man who uses silence as a weapon.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
Hi, I'm King Wishiwashi and I'm here to kill you!
vote: Diamondeye Based off of Renata's analysis, my own gut feeling, and the fact that he was the first to think I was the special role and not King Wishiwashi, leads me to believe he is King Wishiwashi.
-
Re: The Unbelievable Tale of King Wishiwashi
It's seems like we are in kind of a stalemate here. Thus for the sake of this game progressing a bit faster I'll unvote: Renata ; vote: Diamondeye.
Then again, I also don't like the silence of Centurion1.
