Srsly, this is more than I've ever seen in my life. There has to be at least 3 inches on the gorund and its still coming.
Is this what the end times feels like?

Bah, Texans have no sense of scale. 10 inches is nothing even for a Vancouverite. Now, waist-high snow, that's something.
Texas is a brutal land. Inches of snow in winter, temperatures in the eighties or even ninenties!! in summer.
I couldn't survive. I need a nice temperate sea-climate. I squeak and fear for my life when temperatures drop below 60 or rise above 75. :help:
Welcome to our world, Southern Man. Welcome to our world.
In the grim future of North America there is only war.
I don't know how you people deal with this for three moths out of the year. People are losing there excrement over this.
You dig out. Sometimes you even use machines:

... and you buy cars with AWD, and stick all-weather tires on 'em. That helps a lot too.
-edit-
Three months? This starts in November and we don't see the end of it until March at the earliest. It's more like four months in Wisconsin, give or take a couple of weeks. At the moment we've got full snow cover and a day's high of 7 degrees F (without windchill, since that's for wimps).
You are lucky then... I never touch a real snow here in Tropic!!! (but has occasional hail in August)
Had a blizzard yesterday:
25 cm (or 10 inches) with snow and and average windspeed of 13,5 m/s (or 30 mph) with gusts (is it called that?) up to 20m/s (45 mph). Considered bad weather but nothing extreme.
Feeling cold yet?
Edit:
Average about 5-6 months of snow cover (less this last decade though) and current temperature is -20C (-4F), still windy since yesterday and it's what expected to be the warmest temperature tomorrow. Coldest day this year was -32C (-25F) when warmest.
Nuff winter already.
The west coast has it easy. How do you think I feel? The back door at my workplace was more than half-covered with snow earlier this week. I wasn't too surprised when I discovered I was unable to push open the blasted thing from the inside, given the recent snowfall. :wall:
You are so lucky, man; you don't even have it deep. Last Monday my classes at the university were cancelled, so I spent all morning clearing the sidewalk and driveway around the house with an old-fashioned shovel. Wish I had your little machine.Quote:

I've never seen the snow.
pat robertson just came on tv and said the bad weather is because the texas made a pact with satan in the 1800s to help them drive out the mexicans.
really, though, the contract should be void.........
Three months? I deal with it for up to eight months.
As Meth eloquently put it, the West Coast has it easy. We had about 2 cm of snow, lasting for 2 one-hundredths of a week before it all melted.
It rains a whole deal around these parts too. It's just too warm.
I know a fellow in Fort Nelson who gets forcibly housebound every winter. At night, his tinkles make clinking sounds.
In olden times, in snowbound climes, snowfall was a windfall for we youngsters to make a few bucks, shovelling for neighbors, old folks, shut-ins, etc. I often made 20 bucks (in 1960's money) for an afternoon's work. The real money was in doing store-fronts; but ya had to get there early, due to more competition.
bah. we never get real snow here. we only get 25 degree rain, with wind. and the towns like half an hour away get an inch.
this snow came at the msot inopurtune(sp?) time; my parents were about to take the 2 oldest of my siblings to virginia with them for the whole weekend and most of monday. virginia got snowed, so i got screwed over. now i have to re-plan my entire weekend.....gaah!!!!!
Oh no, you actually have to replan your weekend.
Imagine the horrors, people..imagine. It must be worse than the Seventh Circle of Hell. There we have Judas..and Brutus and Cassius...endlessly replanning their weekends and shoveling snow >:
Who cares about snow by the way; it is -16°C outside right now, and it's going to be -20° later on.
Yeah, it's been freezing here in SoCal with temps hitting the lower 50s F. I had to put on a sweater until noon when it got back up to 65F.
