Well, it's certainly a conclusion.
From a strictly Zulu perspective, polygyny is a requirement.
I honestly do not see anything going against polygyny from a Christian perspective, but the Canadian gov't will have something to add...
BUT, I will say this - the United States of America recognises polygynous marriages as long as they were ratified in the country in which the marriage was legally completed. Not sure about Canada. I think they have to do the same as well - otherwise, what happens when a Middle Eastern stud struts in with three wives - how can you take away his legal wives?
But of course, what does it matter to you? For one, you are spamrolling (portmanteau and a neologism denoting a combination of spamming and trolling :beam:). And secondly, you would marry two women (if you should wish for such a horrific fate) even if there was a law against it...
I am pretty sure they banned polygyny to protect men, right before the first feminist movement took off, so the law was just in time...
Jesus said the male and female will be one flesh, no more two individuals, but one flesh.... and yes, in the past, God permits men to have more than one wife, because of Social customs that time...Quote:
From the Bible: Matthew 19 : 4-6 (KJV)
19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
So we can conclude, Polygamy is permitted... but Jesus prefers monogamy...
Aww, Meth has been banned for celebrating his heritage
Hehe, Cute Wolf, do not fall in Meth's trap. He is not really out for a serious discussion :laugh4:
If he was, he stick this in the Backroom...
Aw common, I know you buggers relish the thought of having multiple wives.
^ what you mean dual naggers. no i do not.
No, there is a trick to many wives. You want to have a whole harem, and not just a Muslim-style marriage with around three wives (if you are somewhat wealthy). You see, when you have few wives, it is a deadly game of jealousy, favouritism, and hate, between the wives as well as between you and the wives. But when you have a harem, the concubines of yours receive insufficent attention individually to kindle such conflict.
Religion? To the Backroom, away!

I can agree to this if you replace "god" with "common sence".
I love my GF and want nothing else. She completes me...
Christians shouldn't marry at all.
Now get up and dance like a Shaker!

??? Yeah, I'm sorry, Cute Wolf, but I completely cannot understand what you just wrote.
Umm... sorry for my bad english Meth :wall:... I just want to said that God is not a common sense. But he can use everyone's "common sense" to fulfill his will.
But common sense exists while...
Oh yeah, I would love for that to happen to Christians... Because you know what? According to some National geographic articles from the 1980s, the Shakers were almost utterly dead and gone as a movement. No marriage, no coitus, no children. And of course, without children to brainwash from a tender age, no one else would be silly enough to join the cult...
Alright, that was half-joking and rather mean of me, but the truth holds. Procreation is the main reason why fundamentalists and Religious Right are so alive and well in the US. They breed like rabbits, to put it bluntly. They value children. They take them as a blessing from God (those people must be saints...). Much unlike their secular counterparts, especially the educated Northerners, who suffer birthrates below the replacement level. And so they win, with demographics. I know Idiocracy and The Marching Morons are supposed to be wrong from a scientific perspective, but I am still uneasy...
Religion tends to flip between revivals and periods of decline, so I don't think it's a case of one side breeding the other out. A lot of the time these revivals barely reach beyond a generation or two. The whole 'born again' Christianity we associate with the US today was dead in the water before the 1970's when the Christian Right really emerged as a political force. I think there's a similar process happening in Britain today, with a decline in the established churches, but a rise in small fundamentalist Baptist type churches.
Demographics don't really come into it much, unless you are talking about the fringe with the Quiverfull movement or something like that.
Since men don't often cull each other, there's no over supply of women as was the case in the past.
On a more... base level I can understand two girlfriends or a wife and a girlfriend, but two wives has a lot of downsides and a redcing chance of any upside at all, with either.

I feel ecstatic.
From a SkyNet perspective I've reached the conclusion that all humans must be destroyed.
