hmmmm....who to do who to do?
so, for english we have to pick a person to do a 3 page research paper on, roleplay as on a panel answering questions, and then write a 1st-person view paper of a point of thier life as them.
now, I'm not sure who I should do, but I have a few ideas.
I was thinking Sun Tzu would be pretty cool to do, and the costume for the roleplay would be a big bonus, plus the accent is easy. "just talk-uh like-ah dees!"
but I'm also thinking of Alexander the Great (or Megas Alexandros, for some of you out there :sweatdrop: ), maybe Julius Caesar, Hannibal, or Leonidas. I'm sure there's lots of other figures I would be totally interested in doing, but those are the big ones that come to mind.
so what do you guys think? any other people you'd suggest? the amount of info on them isn't important; I could probably do a 3 page paper on my dad.

I thought "If that Prussian Iron opens another girl thread, I swear I'm gonna ki -- oh nevermind".
Cyrus the Great. Do us a favour, dispel the myths 300 created about Persia.

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
This thread title certainly got my attention
I say go with Sigmund Freud.

...
But if you want to do someone Chinese, Chiang Kai Shek, or Mao are great bets, seeing as how there's so much debate about their achievements.

That would be cool too.
What you do not not not want though, is to go "And Cyrus conquered this, and then he attacked this, and then he defeated-", because that's boring, and the achievements aren't very substantial (Well, they are, but only in the sense that he made a massive Empire.). You'd need to pick an individual with a lasting impact, and not just because of the stuff he conquered.

Exactly what I thought.

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Well this isn't what I was expecting.
That looks like a fair amount of work. Do you have the option to pick anybody?
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
With your talent for accents, you should be a voice actor! Forget school, dub animated films.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Seconded about Cyrus the great. Even though he was finally defeated, you then could give some drama and then wrote that paper as tragedy....:drama3: :drama: :drama2:

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Ajax

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
pever of green
I'll get my coat.
:creep:

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
You should do it on, "His Imperial Majesty Emperor Norton I, Emperor of the United States, and Protector of Mexico"
May you spread the word of his greatness through your classroom of twenty-something. May the word be spread of this man's reign. It must be done for his glory!

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
First thought, Strike is going to be angry. But it's not about that. I would do Hannibal Barca and let and let the fat chicks play the elephants.

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Do Nietzche, or perhaps Socrates! A good line my friend wrote describing Socrates:
Quote:
"Lets have a conversation, only instead I'll do all the talking, and in the end you'll look like a complete idiot!"
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Do someone people haven't heard as much of. Like Csargo's suggestion.
Couple of suggestions- Mansa Musa, Li Yuanhong.

Or a ventriloquist.

Gold. Pure and utter gold.
Do Sean Connery
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Do Robert E. Lee if you are a northerner or Grant/Sherman if you are a southerner. Csargo's suggestion is another good one.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Teddy roosevelt. Then recreate his bull moose speech. Where he got shot........... and kept going
God, I would marry that man.

and Emperor Norton: that is quite awesome. i tihnk I will actually do that for my project.

Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Can it be anyone? Like even fictional characters?
Then Mario. Tell tales about how you rescued princess peach more then once. How your movie was a epic failure, and little about your not so popular brother and what he is like in real life.
If it has to be real, then Socrates should be fun.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Diogenes is more interesting than Socrates, although they're both awesome.
And Emperor Norton is a better idea than Cyrus

Thanks to you I wasted a couple of hours researching him and then spreading tales of his reign to my entire family. Truly the greatest American who ever lived.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
If you're doing Norton, you may wish to use this picture.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
No way, Genghis Khan, aka Temujin, would be the best by far, as you'd need to not shower for at least a month beforehand to be "accurate". Though the teacher and the class may not appreciate your "accuracy". Plus you'd get to ride around on a horse shooting things with your recurved bow. On the other hand, maybe do someone who bathes a bit more regularly.
-
Re: hmmmm....who to do who to do?
Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Einstein etc. Known names, but once you start researching them in depth, you'll realise that you knew nada about them.
