A Sign of the End Times
Worked a crazy-long day today, and at one point I was sure I was hallucinating. That man over there ... he doesn't actually have a dreadlock mullet, does he? No, I'm imagining things. Nobody has a dreadmullet. That's like one of those children's tales told to frighten and cow the kindelein into obedience.
Wait a minute. There he goes again. He really does have a dreadmullet.
Can the end of the world be far off? I know dreadmullets aren't mentioned specifically in the Book of Revelation, but they are implied.
It's been good knowing you all. The End Times are here.

Re: A Sign of the End Times
Dread-mullets are pretty common here, I like to decorate my garden with them

Re: A Sign of the End Times
I was very dissapointed by the amount of mullets I saw in Germany a few months ago. Very dissapointed.

Re: A Sign of the End Times
Don't bother planning any trips down South.
-
Re: A Sign of the End Times
Dreadlocks AND a mullet? Who would do such a thing? What a terrible combo.
-
Re: A Sign of the End Times
This sounds like something I should have seen on People of Wal Mart.

Re: A Sign of the End Times
Dreadlock mullet. Business in the front, party in the back, ganja all the time? :inquisitive:

Funny you say so, because that is where I arrived when I Googled what Lemur said :tongue:
What is also amusing is that dreadlocks are a hippy Northern/California thing, while mullets seem to be a holdover in the redneck South. What sort of a bloke is confused enough to wear a haircut like that? :dizzy2:

Re: A Sign of the End Times
The guy sounds awesome. :laugh4:
Anyway, what's wrong with Wal Mart... that's where I shop (or ASDA as it is here). :stare:

What? That wasn't a joke. I can't think of any other person who could grow a dreadmullet.

Nope, that's called "cornrows" here in the U.S., and while silly-looking, it's an established hairstyle. The dude I saw yesterday evening had short hair in front, top and sides, shaped a bit like a bowl cut, and these long, ratty dredlocks sprouting from the back of his head. And he was a white dude. I have never seen such a hairstyle before, and I hope to never see it again. The white boy dreadmullet is a thing of horror and depravity.

At least it wasn't a horse tail.

Cornrows look good on some black guys. It's also ok on some girls, black or not. I have yet to see the hairstyle look good on a white guy, though. Thankfully, I've never seen a native guy with cornrows, who usually go long or extremely short or a mix of the two.

Re: A Sign of the End Times
Mullets = class, and a gentleman with discerning tastes.
Dreads = dirty
The two cannot be as one, for when these two worlds collide there becomes a rift in the space-time continuum

Ooooh, that's getting close ... now split the dreads into about six or seven rat tails, and turn the front into a bowl cut, and I'm going to start having post-traumatic flashbacks.

Men should have short hair, it's the greatest legacy Rome left us.

Eeeewww.
Short hair is sooo middle class. Fit for men who do physical labour. We, men of culture, distuingish ourselves from the unwashed masses through elaborate hair.
Alas, since the nineteenth century, even men of good society have confused the practicality and uniformity of the 19th century military style (a suit, and a functional haircut) for a fitting look. Dreadful and unimaginative. Me, I say that unless your occupation requires the projection of uniformity and absense of original intellectual or creative pursuit, short hair is a complete no-no.

Hair is over rated. Especially when one doesn't have much...:laugh4:

Re: A Sign of the End Times
Stupid me. All this time I thought:
Mullet = a fish
dreadlock = some kinda special incarceration to be avoided.
cornrow = something discussed in Iowa diners
horsetails = well, horsetails
Hair grows, or doesn't. Attracts females or doesn't. Projects intimidation, or doesn't.
Mostly for me: doesn't. It only works as a first impression - what the wearer hopes I think of him/her. Ten minutes later tells the truth, despite hair, clothes, shoes, car, or talk. The question is whether to invest those 10 minutes.
I betcha the mullet-sporting, pinstripe-wearing, Ferrari-driving guy has as much value to contribute to Foreign Policy, Cultural Zeitgeist, or Batting Averages, as the crew-cut, bluejeans, F-250 fella.
Personally, I prefer to look at longish hair on a guy. Tells me how they care for themselves. Done well, kinda frames their face. Done poorly, makes them greasy, needy, victim-y. Short- hair? Who knows? you're forced to focus on the eyes - kinda rude. Fine on the battlefield, inappropriate on a city street.
So, weaselly hypocrite that I am, I keep mine 3 inches or less, collar length, conventional. When it hits 4 inches, have it cut to 1. It grows.
I cannot imagine sitting for the hours it would take to cornrow or dread my hair.

In February of 2010, the 14th org "football vs soccer" debate was prevented only by a fortuitous typo.
