1. AutoCalc Craziness?
2. AI sucks at siege battles?
3. console autowin?
4. sometimes when I'm in a battle and I exit, it says "if you leave now, you will lose the battle" - I exit, and magically it says I won instead of losing, with the enemy suffering heavy casulties
Never seen that happen. He probably ran around the map until he won like Bennie Hill.
1063 + 874 doesn't equal 2083
I'm not sure.
They are counted IIRC. Siege battles seems to be the case, I remember times where the computer would deploy his army before the towers, I pressed triple speed and relaxed..
I don't know the difference though, it should be friendly fire, ballistas horribly gone wrong maybe?

How about you cut the screen? There was another army around?
what intrigues me is the "average victory"
Ιt's a siege battle which involved the AI stupidly marching his troops along walls. Possibly extremely low-tier units (apeleutheroi???) cut down in droves by Cnaeus Cornelius Scipio Asina who at some point slew the enemy general (Hamalcar). After that the Carthaginians fled the battlefield rescuing a large part of their army...
Some correct, most wrong.
Mass routing at the walls after some died, and the general pursued the soldiers
single Eqvites Consvlares unit guarding a city with large wall against tons of Carthaginian hordes, when they try to scale with siege tower, some tower was broken (explain the "missing" numbers). After that, they try to run one by one toward the down side of the wall, and the Eqvites got easy time picking them one by one....
Right?
And time up.... you win average victory... it was all just pretty 45 minutes, you could sit back and relax with triple speed
Why the hell is it an avarage victory? It should be heroic by any standards
they've been killed by your towers during a siege, as the AI is intelligent ehough to sit at the feet of your walls and get killed... and while they go away, you sally forth with your cav, just to attract them once more to your towers, and they get decimated... is that it?
There is one vital element everybody is missing, which is the reason I was able to kill so many, and why the enemy dead numbers don't add up. My AAR (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...c-A-Romani-AAR) should give you a clue where the battle took place, think of the make up of the enemy army.
Shameless plug for my AAR!:laugh4:
Large unit size...
John is such a tease! :laugh4:
Speaking of friendly fire and Karthadastim, my guess is that they besieged one of the Romani cities, guarded by a FM with his bodyguards, and the Karthadastim had a unit of elephants in their army. Then the elephants, being under fire by the towers, run amok and there's your friendly fire! The rest is already mentioned by previous posters.
Yay we have a wiener! Noble Wrath with his fourth post in sixteen months wins.
I had my Consular army in a nice position in central Sicily awaiting the First Punic War deciding big Sicilian battle that always seems to happen. Went slightly differently this time (probably because I hadn't left Syracuse until after the war as I usual do) they marched past my army and assaulted Syracuse with their elephants. Syracuse, a city with huge stone walls. The army split into two and assaulted a diffferent gate, the spearmen lined up behind the elephants within range of the towers. One by one the elephants walked up to the gates and were killed by boling oil. Eventually they went berserk, back through the ranks of the spearmen, hence the "friendly trampling" The elephants went for a little dance off the map, taking ages to actually rout, letting my towers kill even more of the spearmen.
I think the reason for the average victory was the fact my army didn't actually kill anyone...
