Gum is also a pet peeve of mine. I can't stand people chewing gum for all the world to see. It's just not elegant (for lack of a better word).
I also take offence to people who don't adhere to basic politeness. is it so hard to wait for your turn?
Mine are:
1) having to re-do something finished or nearly finished - the worst is when it is something creative.
2) spending time with someone who is too distracted with text messages or emails constantly arriving on their cell/mobile phone. I made the effort to physically be present to do something with you, the least you could do is give me more attention than the phone. Actually a number of things about the mobile communication culture annoy me.
3) drivers who refuse to get in line at a traffic backup and wait until that last possible second to merge. The worst are those who try to ride the should for as far as they can. Those are obviously "special" people whose time is much more important than the rest of us. Edit: I'll expand this to Phil's peeve regarding basic courtesy and waiting your turn.
i know how this sounds but what about having to re do a part of a video game because of a ctd or a corrupted save. i cant say how much that bothers me.Quote:

Well, I think you can put me on your ignore list. I sometimes do that. ~:(
Absolutely agree here. I dislike when people gossip about a person when he/she is absent but when present they behave as they are the best friends. Annoying.Quote:

you should avoid it if you can. but im talking about excessively. one of my exe's, Im sorry to say this was a factor in our relationship disintegration, but she would literally send one right away if i didnt answer like within 3 minutes. i came back from a basketball game to 23 messages of varying hysteria.Quote:

very very very annoying.
My main pet peeve is people using/touching/taking my stuff without asking permission first. I'm very protective of my property and I just don't like the fact that people think they're entitled to something when it isn't theirs. If you just ask, I'll most likely give it to you.
Also, slow drivers in the left lane.
Another gum hater here, especially when they used to stick it under desks at school. :stare:
Another annoying thing is when people ring the doorbell too quickly, even as you've made your way down the hall and are turning the key...
i do not mind gum, i almost always chew gum but the smacking and looking like a cow! so annoying. me and like three other people were chewing out one of my friends for like an hour yesterday.
Lists.
are you for realz????????Quote:
I hate it when people don't reply within a few minutes.
In no particular order---
-Texting someone back 1 minute after they sent a text, they then take 4 hours to reply.
-Having to redo things
-People who say 'lol' or other abbreviations in real life, it should be kept to online
-Go compare adverts
-Hate how talentless celebrities get big in the music industry, cough cough *cheryl cole* cough cough
-Sarcastic or Smart Alec's, those of an 'upper' class, apparently =P
-How easy people take offense and how you have to tip toe around almost everything nowadays
-Annoying that top end footballers and boxers are mostly a bunch of nasty drunks, which still aren't satisfied with there massive salaries
-Many many MANY other things :wink2:
some people just dont always check their phones all the time. and rl sometimes gets in the way. id rather be a text jerk than someone always engrossed in their phone like gregoshi;s peeve.Quote:
Yep, completely iritates me. Unless I know there is a good reason.

I hate biased biggots along with people who invades my personal space.
Probably the only two things I hate seeing.
i hate anyone who makes my gentle Japanese angry or sad.Quote:

being late to anything.
There's only two kinds of people I hate. People who are disrespectful of other people's cultures, and the Dutch. With their stupid wooden shoes and windmills, oh look at me I stick my finger in a dyke and saved the village but I drowned, boo hoo!
Probably my biggest and most aggravating one.
"Oh, tra la la," think the moronic idiots, "The people in the right lane are going 68 in a 70 mph zone. But I don't want to go that slow!
"So I'm going to go in the left lane at 69 mph. It's alright because I'm going a tiny bit faster than those people. And because I have the right to transport my useless 'brain' and the flesh sack that supports it, while consuming valuable resources like food and air that really people, or at least politicians, could use, at a speed where I don't have to slow down the tiniest bit, but also where I don't have to go at speeds that my so-feeble-it's-a-fluke-of-genetics-and-evolution-and-basic-human-decency brain doesn't dribble out my nose!"
CR
I can't stand windshield wipers still going after it's stopped raining.
Also a few linguistic ones:
--It irks me when people use the word 'myself' when it's neither reflexive nor emphatic (e.g. When you're done, hand the form into Tom or myself)
--I'm bothered by some backformations to make words for things that already have words (e.g. orientate)
--I don't like it when people say 'irregardless' rather than 'regardless'
Of course, as a good descriptivist, I do my best to accept language change, however irrational it may be at times, but some things do get under my skin.

This. So annoying. I'm surprised I haven't thrown someone's blackberry into traffic yet.
Even worse are those the slow ones that drive right beside a car in the right lane, therefore blocking all traffic. Usually performing this act with cellphone attached to ear. My life for a short range jamming device. And a plow blade. And front-mounted 40mm guns.Quote:
