Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
It seems like life just keeps throwing something new my way. My Final Year of College is coming to a close, whereupon I'll be moving westward for Portland, Oregon for work starting in June. Kids are getting to be a handful, Wife wants badly to get out of the boondocks. Just have less and less time to be online, and usually it's not the .Org anymore. The last time I played Total War was a year ago, when I bought Empire, downloaded it, played for about a week, and decided I just didn't feel the same about the series, or just video games in general, as I used to. I have to say though, that this is probably the best group of people I've ever had the opportunity to meet online, but I'm afraid my interests are beginning to lie elsewhere. So cheers to you all for bringing me a little slice of online heaven for the last six years, and I hope that it will continue to bring laughs, and petty disputes between Irish Guys and Dutch Guys for many more years to come.

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
That's a bummer to hear Wakizashi, but understandable in your situation. I hope you have good years ahead of you and I also hope life will throw something at you that will bring you back here, if not as a regular, at least for short visits from time to time. Fare thee well. ~

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
You're leaving too, you old dinosaur? Damn man. I mean, most of us don't even visit this forum out of our love for total war anymore. We do it because it's what shaped and maked us. Don't you go forgetting where you came from, bwoi!

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
I blame CA. Even a tight-nit community such as this cannot thrive on the mediocre crap they've been putting out for the last couple of years. I haven't played a TW game for more than a week since MTW:VI.
Anyway, that is a discussion for another time. Good luck to you and your family, Wakizashi!

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
Sad to hear that you are leaving us, Wakizashi. I thought you loved Montana? But when the wife decides, a chap must follow.
Best wishes for your future and you know you'll always be welcome here.

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
Doesn't sound all that definite. Which is worrying. Hope to see you around.

I agree. I fear for the future of this place. It's kind of concerning the tavern gets more posts than the actual total war section. Sure, a lot of people hang around mainly for the non-total war discussions but with little new blood coming in and some of our older members dying of, I have concerns. But yes, CA haven't made a good game in years..
Anyway, see you around Wakizashi, the backroom will miss your presence. Good luck with life and hopefully it will throw good things your way.

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
Another one of the regular fixtures ever since I joined goes another path...
I am getting a little worried about the future of the .org, there's just no new faces with the uninspiring new TW titles.

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
Thanks all for wishing me well. I'm not going to say whether or not I will never come back, or visit from time to time, I don't have the foresight to predict such things, and the allure of an amazing mod (such as EBII) may be too hard to resist. Between family, work, full time college, and a big move in a few months the juggle of life has pretty much grounded me on everything extracurricular, and as much as I love .Org I constantly found myself coming here, and then one day nothing, and then a few weeks nothing, and then a month and I hardly even think of making a comment, just a quick browse and I am back off to real life. So it's become more of a nuisance, almost an OCD reaction to come here, rather than the enjoyment of conversation.
Panzer: I partly agree, when MTW came out I had jitters, I was amazed. Then RTW came out, and I was excited for about a day and then disturbed. Then M2TW came out and I didn't care that much, Empire was just the final nail in the coffin. Having that said, I generally came here for love of the backroom.
BG: I love Montana, and it's treated me well for the last four years. I've met some great people out here, but I came mostly for my family; which have since scattered to the four corners of the world. Oldest brother is in England, other older brother is in Brazil, sister is in Thailand. I actually made the decision to move elsewhere, my wife never liked the idea of leaving the warmth of California for the bitter cold of Montana, but she's been a soldier. When I got the job offer in Portland, Mrs. Waki convinced me (a little) to take it because I'd be making double what I make here. :embarassed:

Yo man! What's the name of your favourite Sabbath Album??
Painted silver lining
writing's on the wall
Children get together
You can save us all
Future's on the corner
Showing us the time
Slow down, turn around
Everything's fine
There's no need to have a reason
There's no need to wonder why
It's the part of me that tells you
Don't you ever
Don't never say die
Never, never, never say die, again...

Re: Not another "Goodbye" Thread.
Sad to see another old Orgah leaving. But that's how it turns out to be, slowly even our community is fading away in the darkness...
Enjoy your life Wakizashi. You will be missed.
