I'm playing Western Roman Empire in Barbarian Invasion. What I don't understand is everytime I destroy a horde faction, spending considerable amount of time, they spawn with 4-5 full stacks somewhere else. This is driving me insane. :angry::angry:

You mean the very same horde faction or some other horde faction? If the latter is the case, then that's part of the game. If the former, i'd say something very weird is going on in your game.
If it is the same horde then perhaps it's because you take their last settlement after they have settled down.
So what should I do? Just let them keep that settlement? Because I basically killed off 3/4 of the horde and they only had a small stack left in a city. I don't understand how they could respawn back with 4 full stacks again.Quote:

If you take their last settlement then they get new stacks. You should try to kill them off when they are a horde and not let them take any settlements. Or you can use your assassins and start killing their FM's.
hordes are easy to destroy make them attack you in sieges your units will eat up the horde sodliers ten after they are sufficently weakened clean up the dregs. make them waste their men on your walls.
They are also easy to destroy in river crossings and also you can take them out while they are on the run by using (a few usually) assassins. If you assassinate all family members the Horde dies out.
Once a Horde takes over a settlement it gets a substantial new lease of life - even if the Horde was depleted previously it will use the inhabitants when it gets on the road next after you conquer that settlement. You hadn't mentioned that they had taken a settlement and you took that. As the others said this is how Hordes work.
You have to make sure all their Generals are dead when you take the last city/defeat the last army or else they'll re-spawn. They're pesky, but that's how it works.

What are you complaining about? You own half to the map on first turn, and yet its a sad day when the horde factions get to parade? Well take your pick roaming or city life.
Half the world may be a bit of the over-statement, seeing as most of it is pagan, under-defended and rebellious.
killing all faction leaders for the horde factions is a good way to finish them off..........i've done it for the vandals and goths.
