The NTW skin is work in progress.
Hello,
NTW skin is still work in progres, but this should give an idea. The blue is Graphics work.
Wow. NTW skin looks great!
I like the new skin.
What happened to the facebook button, Tosa? I saw you put one up earlier, or was you just experimenting?
Nice.
I am in love with this forum skin...
The text colour needs sorting before I can truly love it though
I like the new NTW skin. It is, very nice, indeed. The blue and grey text is a little hard to read though.
edit: I think blue was supposed to mean green...I don't remember.
I like this, think I'll stick with it.
I am with Subotan on this. It doesn't replace 'The Guild' skin for me yet.
It sucks.

I assume you have a way of fixing the text problems? In fact, why not just give us a bunch of skins to choose from? You know... like the old Org. As it stands, I can barely see anything in post previews, profiles, and settings.
There's still a lot to be done, this skin is a teaser to show which direction we're thinking. Graphic put some thought in the blues, and I grabbed some yellow for the text instead of grey and black, to make it readable.
A lot of the skin is still default, which means yellow text on a light background in some places. There might be a thousand switches for just this skin, and nothing is WYSIWYG or easy to grasp.
The reason for there not being more skins yet, is that none of the old ones work with this new board version, and simply porting them isn't a matter of seconds either.
It's looking good.
Just keep the colours soft and I'll be fine. The grey on blue isn't great. And no incandescent yellow on white please. :)
Tweaking colours in base 16 is fun!!
With the Guild skin, when viewing fora that have threads with attachments, the formatting gets messed up. For the Watchtower, the "Vbulletin Upgrade" thread is indented and has extra whitespace above and below. I'm guessing it has to do with the inclusion of the attachment clippy icon.
Edit-> and now it's fixed.
And it's not designed by dutch logic, which makes it even harder to me. 'I think I should change this there... no'. I know about things being wrong, but to find the right switch is a different story.
That's correct. I'm glad other people do have a better understanding about that.Quote:
Though to be far, "picking the right colours" isn't as easy as it sounds. Take your average spouse to pick paint for the walls.
Wil the rtw skin come back as well?
Hrrmmm interesting.
Had a look at the NTW skin, looks nice.

I downloaded a free vBulletin skin (you would not believe how hard it is to find free skins for vBulletin) and browsed the XML file. It's not all that hard to understand, and it's pretty much the exact same as SMF. Since vBulletin is not free, I don't know if you can install two forums on the same site with a license. If you can, install a second forum on the site somewhere as a test forum, and edit the XML file to your heart's content. Tinker with everything.
A few tips for figuring out colors:
1. Light text on light background never works. Even when it's legable, like right now with the yellow on the light blue, it's still not a good idea. Note that light on light makes bold fonts harder to read (try figuring out which thread in a board has new posts without squinting, I dare you). Light text on dark background can hurt the eyes. Dark text on light background is pretty much a standard, and thus wont be as reviled as the previous choices. It's why the RTW skin was so popular. A good choice of colors can make a world of difference. Browsing other forums also gives you a good idea of what makes a good forum skin.
2. Google "color hex codes" for color codes.
3. When in doubt, ask for help. No man is an island, and if you don't know something about the XML file, someone else is bound to have the answer.
Patience is a virtue, even for robot unicorns.
In the guild skin, whenever someone quotes something, there is a massive gap of blank space.
Downloading skins from there requires a license. Only an idiot would pay 195 or 285 dollars for forum software you can get for free. :)Quote:

Tosa, umm... the Napoleon skin is just too unfamiliar to be put as the default skin... maybe you should put the guild skin, or the VB default as default skin... I just a bit dizzy when openng the forum, and found a blue-black NTW skin....
There should be more skin options soon enough. There are people helping Tosa with the skins. He is not working alone.
