british people- I need your help!
ok so for anyone who has been following my AAR, i draw on British customs and practices for my jokes that i include. but because i am not british myself, i know very little about british culture.
now heres my problem:
there is only so much that i can get from monty python and blackadder, and google only goes so far. so i need people who are from britian or know a lot about british culture to please send me some little known or quirky facts/customs.
any help will be much appreciated!

Depends which part of Britain you're looking for. Remember there are three nations and one province. For the sake of arguement I'll assume (since your a yank) that you probably mean English.
My, my, where to start.
Bowler hats, that's derbys to you. Google John Steed for the look.
Not being a southern poofty I'll throw in some northern customs.
Pie and peas. Black pudding (bludwurst). Black peas. Yorkshire pudding. Real Ale (not that weak as nats piss southern pop they sell darn sarf) Cricket at Headingly. Rugby League. Cricket at Old Trafford. Football (soccer) Dominoes. Darts. Parkin. Meat puddings. Flat caps and whippets (stereotype)
Accents.

The Irish drink more tea per capita than the English. A certain Nietzsche quote comes to mind:
"Be careful when fighting monsters, lest you become one. For when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you."

Re: british people- I need your help!
I have checked it on a few websites and the claim for tea is that per capita is about 2.3kg per person in UK and 1.5kg per person in Ireland. Our consumption is down mainly because the Irish drink about 13.5L of alcohol per person where UK only gets through 11.2L only France and Luxemburg beat the Irish on alcohol consumption.
I have a suspicion the statistic may be old though even though they claim to be current there amazingly similar to the 2004 statistics on wikipedia

Remember to apologise when someone steps on your toes.

I honestly can't remember where I got the statistic from, so I'm probably wrong

@Subotan
I did a bit more rooting and it seems that no one really knows who drinks the most tea. Ireland tops Britain in caffeine from tea which most likely means Ireland drinks stronger tea, hence the anecdote of Ireland drinking more tea likely comes from the fact you can drink more cups from the same amount of tea.
Ireland (127 mg of caffeine from tea per day!)
Kuwait (112 mg)
United Kingdom (96 mg)
So yes Ireland does indeed drink more tea than UK which means an entire pillar of your society has crumbled no wonder ye lost the empire. :beam:

English - a love for such middle class pastimes as: costume drama, gardening, China with flower patterns, colourful wallpaper, local history, walks in the countryside, watching quaint music festivals in the Royal Albert Hall or some military tattoo.
It's all rather lovely, quite endearing to behold. Dreams of a little Hobbitshire.

Re: british people- I need your help!
There again you could think of morris dancers, pissed up and wanting to batter anyone not as 'morris' as them.

Excellent. Seeing as I'm half Irish, my traitorous activities have undermined my adopted civilisation! Mwahaha

The British soccer/football team demands a joke be made in their honor.
-
Re: british people- I need your help!
One of the advantages that we British have is the knowledge that the British don't have a football team. Not soccer anyroad. :laugh4:

Beating up the French and making fun of them for being wusses.
