DOES ANYBODY HERE LISTEN TO TOOL???

<-------------- Why do you ask?
The new album should hopefully be out next year (matching the 5-year span between albums) and Tool is also touring at the moment (seems mostly west-coast locations). Maynard said he's also working on some APC stuff for this year; which I'm really excited for because I also love A Perfect Circle.
Apparently Tool played at the Patriot Center last year.
Have you been to any of their concerts?
I'm dying to go.. I hope they play in the Patriot Center next year.
Speaking of concerts I recently been to DC 101's Chili Cook-Off primarily to see Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains. They really rocked.
I'm planning to go to the Blackdiamondskye concert also in the Patriot Center in September featuring Mastodon, Deftones, and Alice in Chains.
I'm digging the latest from Massive Attack.

I wanted to go to that show last summer, but I had to go out of town. I've never seen them live, no luck with scheduling. I really need to fix this with the next tour, I'm not sure how much longer they are going to be doing this and the live shows are supposed to be incredible (judging from the Salival stuff). I'm really too old to be doing lots of shows, but Tool is one I need to see.
I met a boy wearing Vans, 501s, and a dope Beastie T...

This is the only band I like to ever come play in my town...they played in a little coffee shop so everything was right there in front of you, it was a lot of fun

Bit of shreddy fusion on guitar. I dare one of you to say you don't like it.

Fusion? Ewwwww. Gave it a listen. No likee, no sir.
Gimme jazz or rock or pop or funk. Their bastard offspring? Not so much. It's half jackrabbit, half antelope.
Here's some real jazz that rocks. Eddie Harris, "Listen Here." Feel the good vibes.

Recently, it's been classical piano-/keyboard-based ambience. Mellow, pensive piano pieces makes a change from my previous experience in rhythmic experimental drone/noise... which was an odd phase indeed.... anyway, beautiful stuff here, have a listen, trust me when I say it's time well wasted:

I love TCV, QotSA, Kyuss.. anything with Josh Homme in it. Elephants is the best track on their self-titled album IMO.
A really good indie song I heard... I listened to it and bought the album immidiately:

My mate is trying to get me into Wagnar and I'm a bit embarrassed for him, like does he think I'm crazy?
Then I realised I know some already, Siegfried's funeral march (used so effectively in Excalibur, which features some nice Orff and Wagnar at various points).
Its awesome stuff, really insane.
I´m with you right there man....Homme is my favorite musitian by far...the guy does no wrong.
my second favorite band:

Isn't melodic death metal a fine oxymoron?
Personally I enjoy QotSA, but not Kyuss nor TCV. Kyuss has a darker feel that I don't enjoy and TCV I find to be tacky.
Funk Yeah.

It took me a while... but now I'm starting to really like Bjork. I used to not like her voice but not it's growing on me:

In celebration of me getting a 16gb ipod nano, I went out and bought two Iron Maiden albums that I did not have before: A Brand New World and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
I will also be rushing out to the store on the 17th to get The Final Frontier.
On an unrelated note, Black Label Society is coming out with a new album tomorrow: Order of the Black.
Man, I love all the ample room (10 gb) I have on my Ipod even after I added all my Metallica and Iron Maiden, as well as my AC/DC and various other bands.
