Hi, yes its me and my questions again.
I was wondering how are the modding patches?
What do they do, what do they change?
It is safe to install one?
How do i know if im going to like the things they do?
Everybody talks about the patrician how is it, what changes?

This would be better in the Dungeon.
Mods basically change some parts of a game, or change the way it plays. Read about Patrician mod in the dungeon.
A mod changes the way your game looks and feels. In Patricians' case, it gives Medieval War a more Ancient look and feel. It is always safe to BACKUP your entire Game Folder before you install any mod (Modification) into MTW.Quote:

Normaly the worst that can happen is you have to reinstall

Tosa has also suggested copying the whole MTW folder to another location and using the copy for mods.

The most basic and best advice I can offer is as follows -
- if you want to install 'mods' (whatever they may be) ALWAYS have 2 copies of MTW on your PC. A 'none-moddable' copy that will not be changed, and a 'moddable' copy that will be the recipient of any/all mods you wish to try.
- even that approach does'nt guarantee a griefless approach because many mods, should you choose to download and install them, maywell be incompatable with each other
- trying to install mods on a single copy of MTW is IMPOSSIBLE You require a minimum of 2 MTW installations.
Personally I have 3 copies. One unmoddable copy and 2 moddable copies. The 2 moddable copies are used for different types of mods -
a) one is used exclusively for new units
b) the other is used exclusively for new campaigns
Evsn so, I have NO copy that can be 'safely' used for other peoples mods (for other peoples mod's if I wish to test them I generally install them into my 'new campaigns' moddable installation and having checked it out reinstall a new MTW afterwards. Whilst I only use 3 MTW copies it can be extremely confusing at times due to the number of 'key' files (eg prod11) that may require amendment for any single mod and I often make mistakes.
If you consider Lord Krazy probably has 4/5 copies of MTW on his PC in order to develope, test and package his new units you may get an idea of what is involved when modding MTW.
Basically, one copy is insufficient. Two copies is the bare minimum.
