Possible to force a birth?
I have only 2 remaining Baktrios FMs, one of them had 2 daughters and the other none at all. This aggravates me, as he has a mistress, herbalist and a trait that gives +2 (I think) to fertility, yet he is 49 years old and nothing (no flaccid trait or anything like it)
Their father died at like 72, had over 25 battles, subdued Saka, killed the Seleukid King and many more nice things, so I would not like it if his name died with the 2 bureaucrat brats.
Is there anything I could do to force them?

Re: Possible to force a birth?
I'm afraid not! Well, you could try to give him as much ancillaries increasing the chance of birth (I believe those exist) as possible, but it's no guarantee.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
I already gave him the mistress and herbalist and he has not succeeded yet :(
I can't give him a doctor. I could only swap him for the herbalist, but I see no point. Are there any others? because I can't find any on my other FM.
edit: I checked again and I feel so cheated! he has the fruitful, healthy wife, won't take no for an answer traits plus the herbalist and mistress. That is +6 fertility! :furious3:

I guess it's just not ment to be :)

Re: Possible to force a birth?
There is a ratio in RTW about FM's/regions occupied, so if you have just the starting province, you probably won't get another birth (or adoption) until one of them dies. Expanding helps a lot, or you can try to bribe a FM from another faction.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
give_trait "Character Name""EBFertile"3
Will make him prolific!
See if that helps/works?

Re: Possible to force a birth?
I will try the trait and perhaps the bribe. I am not sure I can afford one, though.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
my advice is build the stinkest ship you can board it with all your useless fm and go pirate hunting as was mentioned you must pay attention to your family tree to make sure you don´t have too many useless fm´s for the amount of regions you got

Re: Possible to force a birth?
Do mercenary generals affect this as well?
-
Re: Possible to force a birth?
of course, too much merc generals will push named character/region ratio bigger, and made less birth as the result
-
Re: Possible to force a birth?
Well, I only have 2 of them.
-
Re: Possible to force a birth?
if you only have 8 or 9 regions, that's a big part!
-
Re: Possible to force a birth?
Damn. I did not know that, I thought they were separate. I've just taken the whole of North-East Africa as the Romani and I've put type 4 govs in every city as well as merc generals to control the region until I can get decent reinforcements in. Looks like I'll be pirate hunting soon...

Re: Possible to force a birth?
well, don't be too worried; just keep expanding.
besides, you know you can't rush people when it comes to such...intimate...matters :clown:

Re: Possible to force a birth?
Err I don't think that Generals have a significant influence on that. In my Romani campaign I changed the trait file to delete the Impostor-trait and the EDB to make it possible to recruit Client Rulers outside of Italy (all governments except the Italien one). Except for Italy, Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia all provinces (i have a total of 38-40) are ruled by Client Rulers and I have 3-4 Generals moving around. Though, I have more then 20 FMs, more to come of age and my female FMs still get marriage proposals.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
Merc generals don't have any influence on the family's birth-region ratio at all. Cute Wolf is wrong. This has been stated many times before in the past. Do a forum search.

Keep it friendly, please. I guess CW simply linked to the wrong thread.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
You can always spawn a character by script no?

Isn't that cheating?

The way I see it, cheating is only cheating if you consider it to be that way. If you want more family members for roleplaying purposes, why shouldn't you have them? It's only a game, and it's not like you're using the money cheat or anything.

Re: Possible to force a birth?
I assume due to FM birth ratio limits, if you spawned a new character they wouldn't be included in your family tree? Much like client rulers?

Teach us, Moros! Teach us now!

Re: Possible to force a birth?
Indeed teach us! Would it be a command console or creating a script that can be activated in game?

That's great news to me, since I've done exactly the same thing as you did, except that I'm the Epeirotai.
Thanks for letting me know this.

I think you gotta wait for RTW: Star Wars Clone Wars Edition...
