If you save a game and then shut down MTW, then later on load up the save, the game will load up fine, but will crash on the first turn after reloading.
This crash may happen during either the AI moves, or when battle results are automatically calculated, for either naval or land battles.
Saving and reloading work fine as long as you do not exit the game.
I have not experienced any problems like this before, and about all I can think of as the cause would be the new units I added. (I had not added new units in any previous version.)
I added 7 new units to the game, which are used only for Crusades. Their creation and everything else works fine as long as you don't exit the game.
I did not keep the order of the units the same when I appended their names, descriptions, etc. to the various files, so this would be my first thought.
Is there any info available on CTD causes from those of you who have added new units to the game? I have scanned some of the guides here, but they all seem to be on other topics, or else they don't cover things you have to watch out for when adding units.
Any help is appreciated.

I had a similar problem after adding a unit mod when I hit the spacebar to skip the tour at the end of a year it would CTD but it is fine if I let it run through the tour so I did not bother to find the cause .http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/.../overpape2.gif

Wes, I found a similar problem with 1.7 as Sword of Storms, but instead of CTD, my computer would freeze. Are you by any chance running any other programs, like an anti-virus? After I got this crash a few times, I rebooted the computer and shut down any other programs. Then I found that the program would seemingly freeze for a while after I hit end of turn, but eventually it would run. If I hit the space bar to speed things up it would hang, but if I let it run it would eventually be o.k.
Of course, I added a few new crusader units to the ones you introduced in 1.7 for the reasons I discussed in my posts on that thread, so I have even more new crusader units than you. It seems to be working fine right now, though. Haven't had an problems the last few turns.
Perhaps your save-game file became corrupted in some way. Does this happen every time you start a new campaign? I would ask Lord Krazy if he's seen this phenomena as he's the king of adding new units, but first, see if it's a problem limited to your current campaign or something more general.
Edited post: Now that I think of it, I reinstalled the game and added the patch before re-installing your mod. Perhaps this would help if nothing else works? Sometimes the savegame file gets screwed up.

I found the problem, or problems with the mod. I covered them in the 1.7 thread if anyone is interested.
Thanks for offering suggestions.
