Ah cinnamon, vocabulary =+1. Always great with apples. French toast has a rather odd name here, 'wentelteefje' which means 'swinging bitch' must be a morning-after thing.
I prefer to just dip it in plain egg and milk as part of a fry up, or if eaten alone then topped with spices after cooking.
French toast, bacon, onion, tomato, capsicum, mushrooms.... mmmm it's been too long since I've had a good fried brekkie, I'll have to pop off the shops in the morning.

I always go for pancakes or waffles before I go for french toast. But that's just me.
Why is French toast called French toast in US, or is just everything foreign named as French? In here its called köyhät ritarit = poor knights.I think thats the name for the dish in Nordic countries,Russia and Germany atleast. Originally just a way to make dry bread edible again, by soaking it to milk, egg or both.
