What if Great Britain and France were still arch-nemeses up to now?
I was just wondering if things stayed as they were(diplomatically) during Medieval Times? What can possibly happen???
I would love them throwing special forces at each other!
SAS vs. COS!!!

I can't speak for everybody, but as for me, whenever I can't sleep I try to think relaxing thoughts of earthquakes and massive tidal waves washing away the cursed island forever...
:Zzzz:
So yeah, I'm not really sure whatever gave you the idea we're no longer arch-enemies...

Well, France, along with the rest of the continent, is no longer cut off from the UK since the Channel tunnel was built. Funny that the French construction teams worked so hard and progressed faster than the British, maybe they were desperate to escape?
I love how the Monastery acts as a repository for jingoism, second only to the backroom of course.

Right so were talking about nowadays then France wins the race eventually.
If UK and France were still arch enemies then the political landscape of Ireland, UK and France would be vastly different.
The Irish government if there still was one would be a close ally of France the conflict in Northern Ireland would end up with France and UK backing there respective co-religonists.
UK would quickly find it did not have the resources to fight France and even just trying to keep pace with France would not work.
UK strength for last few years was based on financial services this would never have happened due to the instability.
Trade especially free trade would never have happened for UK and so she would enter a slow decline. The channel would be UK's only defense but as every year went by it would be less and less useful due to technology.
Unless UK managed to convince USA, Canada, Austrailia and New Zealand to back it France would end up winning this marathon.

Why do you think the Québécois haven't been given independence yet? As symbolic as it is, the Queen likes having French subjects under her thumb. ~;)

The only good thing the UK ever did was conquer India as this makes it eaiser for me to understand Tech support.
Other than that they are a wretched, backwards, and sexually repressed society that somehow lucked into hyperpower status in the 19th century which led to the atrophy of republican and enlightment ideals.
France on the other hand is the height of human achivement.
The most backward peasant villiage in Auvergne has more class and culture than all the high rises in London
To even mention these countries in the same sentence is tantamount to a warcrime

fixed, and I salute you sir.
N.B. Some Indians may disagree with your earlier postulation.
