The Falcata?
I ran across a reference the other day referring to the Falcata swords as a Greco-Roman sword. It was my impression that the Falcata originated from the Ibensu-something (Spanish) peninsula. I have researched other more-reputable sites and none other, that I can find, refer to this as ever being used by the Greco-Romans.
So, my question is: Did the Romans or Greeks adopt this weapon? Am I correct in that this weapon originated in South-Western Europe and that it was not used by the Greeks or Romans? Finally, is this not one of the swords wielded by Hannibal's forces at the Battle at Cannae?

Re: The Falcata?
IIRC is it similar to the Greek Kopis but IMO I would say it is not correct to call the Falcata a Greco-Roman sword.
