Seeing Cities
So while playing rome the other day i noticed that you can see your cities on the battle map without actually being in a battle. This was really cool imo since i thought the only way to see your city was to have it besieged. I couldnt find the same option on Medieval 2. Is there any way to do so or did they stupidly take that out as well. (like the got rid of infantry wedges from medieval 1)

Re: Seeing Cities
Yes, they got rid of it. I liked that feature in RTW as well. It was fun to look over the sea and see a city on the other shore! ~:)

Re: Seeing Cities
I too miss the cities on the battle map. Tied the battle map and the strat map together somewhat. I also miss seeing the 7 wonders of the world on the battle map as well. Though I am aware that the 7 wonders weren't in M2TW.

Re: Seeing Cities
There were Pyramids in M2TW.

Re: Seeing Cities
There were! :O You know, I have never noticed them! Though mostly playing at a western European, I get down there seldomly. I'll have to note that as I move south with England, been wanting to launch a crusade on Jerusalem anyway!

Re: Seeing Cities
I was wrong. There are no pyramids on the campaign map. However, I remember seeing them on battle map in the distance.
Or my mind is playing tricks and I confuse it with some mod or something..

Re: Seeing Cities
I just remembered vast desert out there, but I could be wrong. I just remember in RTW on battle there was the collosus far off in the distance! It was neat! M2TW could have used such a flare!

Re: Seeing Cities
i acutally plan my defenses using that feature. decide what troops i need positioned there. 1 or two archers, do i need only one phalanx or too etc. sucks its gone from medieval 2 do the bring it back in any of teh other games, empire, napolean?

Re: Seeing Cities
It's not in Empire unless I'm mistaken.
I believe some M2TW mods have revived the feature. Unless I remember this wrongly I think EB2 will have this option.
