Will the EB team be interested in creating a new game in the future?
Hello there.
I was just wondering whether the EB team had any interest in creating a new game in the future, or had some limited resources in making some kind of script for its setting, where that game would have a setting based upon history but instead of being RTS game then it could for an example maybe be a Role-playing game. For an example about a succesfull Roleplaying-games then it can be mentioned Baldurs gate 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Arcanum, Gothic 1 and 2, Planescape torment.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. The team is still slaving trying to get out EBII. Im sure the last thing on their mind is another game. I can imagine they will take a well deserved break after EBII.

"If" it evers comes out :(( I surely know it is innimaginable amount of work, but it is still some time since the start of the project.

I believe the OP is written not in a way that conveys a hypothetical but rather a question of fact: whether or not the stated interest exists among (part of) the team that developed EB or not.

Making a game completely out of scratch would mean that money would almost have to be involved. Also note that we don't have all the required skill either. People and all have to be hired,... Unless it would be a very simple game with very limited options, little debt,... In other words it could not be something worthy of the name EB. If money would be involved, most likely profit would also need to be involved. Hence deadlines and the likes. This would also again not allow us to make a game as historically correct as we want nor any of the other major principles behind both EB project. The only way I could see this ever happening is when some millionaire/billionaire/... would come a long and said here have some money and make a game. But as that's only a dream scenario, no we haven't had any plans.
However if the question is are we interested. Then the answer is that I even know some of us dream about or fantasize about it. Sadly perhaps it will most certainly stay that way.

EBII will come out. It might take 5 years from the start of the project, but it will come out eventually, I'm sure.

I do hope so, coz the project is as great as it is ambitious! I just hope I will be able to actually try it for myself and not to leave it as a legacy for my childrens... :)
