"Coquet" means dressing and making up in a feminnine way, in a sense kitch, beyond good measure.

Certainly a fitting feature for the period.

No, no. It's clearly directed at French TW players who enjoy the idea of dressed up, feminine males fighting each other for dominance over an elongated strip of land.
