Nusantara Total War : Rise of Majapahit

I would like to introduce myself. I'm Ady, a native indigenous Indonesian(pribhumi). Have interest in our ancestor and greatest history of the glory Majapahit, most largest kingdom in Southeast Asia during medieval time.

Majapahit empire has 2.7 million sq.km compare to Eastern Roman Byzantium at 2.8 million sq.km. Majapahit conquered All Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, even Saludung (Manila-today). I'd like to develop more historical-based sub-mod Rise of Majapahit by using existing NTW complex mod. This NTW mods is very interesting that finally I found some buddies have already developed it to become more realistic even with 3D models and sound/music character. Awesome job guys. Really appreciate
with your time and extraordinary efforts.

I wish there are more historical-realistic campaign map to be develop. Just sub-mod with more historical campaign map and the rest will be the same as NTW mods or may not far. It will succesfull with help from all you guys who already made NTW succesfully. Thank you for anything that make this glorious history of Nusantara to be learn not only from studying for our future children in school but also remembering from a game. Learning (history) by playing. Most people today has forgot about their history & culture. Some others didn't know while others had claimed.

Majapahit was a vast archipelagic empire based on the island of Java from 1293 to around 1500. Majapahit reached its peak of glory during the era of Hayam Wuruk, whose reign from 1350 to 1389 marked by conquest which extended through Southeast Asia, including the present day Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, southern Thailand, the Philippines, and East Timor. His achievement is also credited to his prime minister, Gajah Mada.

Majapahit was one of the last major empires of the region and is considered to be one of the greatest and most powerful empires in the history of Southeast Asia, one that is sometimes seen as the precedent for Indonesia's modern boundaries.

Historians have examined the Nagarakertagama book for what it reveals of political history. In the canto 13 to 14, Mpu Prapanca named several states within today's Indonesian borders. This suggested that those areas were within Majapahit spheres of influence. Prapanca said the states were subsumed by Majapahit or were vassal states.[citation needed]

In Canto 13, several lands on Sumatra are mentioned, and some possibly correspond to contemporary areas: Jambi, Palembang, Teba (Muara Tebo), and Dharmasraya. Also mentioned are Kandis, Kahwas, Minangkabau, Siak, Rokan, Kampar and Pane, Kampe, Haru and Mandailing. Tamiyang (Aceh Tamiang Regency), negara Perlak (Peureulak) and Padang Lawas (Gayo Lues Regency), are noted in the west, together with Samudra (Samudra Pasai) and Lamuri, Batan (Bintan), Lampung, and Barus. Also listed are the states of Tanjungnegara (believed to be on Borneo): Kapuas Katingan, Sampit, Kota Lingga, Kota Waringin, Sambas, and Lawas.

In Canto 14 more lands are noted: Kadandangan, Landa, Samadang, Tirem, Sedu (Sarawak), Barune (Brunei), Kalka, Saludung (Manila), Solot (Sulu), Pasir Barito, Sawaku, Tabalung, and Tanjung Kutei. In Hujung Medini (Malay Peninsula), Pahang is mentioned first. Next Langkasuka, Saimwang, Kelantan and Trengganu, Johor, Paka, Muar, Dungun, Tumasik (where Singapore is today), Kelang (Klang valley) and Kedah, Jerai (Gunung Jerai), Kanjapiniran, all are united.

Also in Canto 14 are territories east of Java: Badahulu and Lo Gajah (part of today's Bali). Gurun and Sukun, Taliwang, Sapi island and Dompo Sang Hyang Api, Bima. Seram, Hutan Kadali (Buru island). Gurun island, and Lombok Merah. Together with prosperous Sasak are already ruled. Bantayan with Luwu. Further east are Udamakatraya (Sangir and Talaud). Also mentioned are Makassar, Buton, Banggai, Kunir, Galiao with Selayar, Sumba, Solot, Muar. Also Wanda(n) (Banda island), Ambon or Maluku islands,Kai-islands(Ewab Ohoi-Ewur Mas-Il Larvul-Ngabal-istiadat), Wanin, Seran , Timor and other islands.

Majapahit Territorial Division

1. Ruled by the King's close relatives :

* Negara Agung, or the Grand State, the core kingdom. The traditional or initial area of Majapahit during its formation before entering the imperial phase. This includes the capital city and the surrounding areas where the king effectively exercises his government. This area covered the eastern half of Java, with all its provinces ruled by the Bhres (dukes),

2. Ruled by the local native King's and married with Majapahit relatives : (in Total war, the governor should be adopted and married Majapahit relatives)

* Mancanegara, areas surrounding Negara Agung. These areas are directly influenced by Javanese culture, and obliged to pay annual tributes. However these areas usually possess their own native rulers or kings, that might foster alliance or intermarried with the Majapahit royal family. Majapahit stationed their officials and officers in these places and regulate their foreign trade activities and collect taxes, yet they enjoyed substantial internal autonomy. This includes the rest of Java island, Madura, Bali, as well as Dharmasraya, Pagaruyung, Lampung and Palembang in Sumatra.

3. Ruled by other kingdoms (Majapahit as Protectorate Kingdom in Total War) :

* Nusantara, areas which do not reflect Javanese culture, but are included as colonies and they had to pay annual tribute. They enjoyed substantial autonomy and internal freedom, and Majapahit did not necessarily station their officials or military officers here; however, any challenges on Majapahit oversight might draw severe response. These areas such as the vassal kingdoms and colonies in Maluku, Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawesi, Borneo, and Malay peninsula.

4. Allied Kingdoms

All of those three categories were within the sphere of influence of the Majapahit empire, however Majapahit also recognize the fourth realm that defines its foreign diplomatic relations:

* Mitreka Satata, literary means "partners with common order". It refer to independent foreign states that is considered as Majapahit's equals, not the subject of Majapahit powers. According to Nagarakretagama canto 15, the foreign states are Syangkayodhyapura (Ayutthaya of Siam), Dharmmanagari (Nakhon Si Thammarat Kingdom), Marutma, Rajapura and Sinhanagari (kingdoms in Myanmar), Champa, Kamboja (Cambodia), and Yawana (Annam).

5. Netral & have trading diplomatic (China & India kingdoms) :

* Mitreka Satata can be considered as Majapahit's allies, since other foreign kingdoms in China and India was not included in this category, although Majapahit known has conducted foreign relations with these nations.

you must know that majapahit never actually conquer all of those nation. Majapahit only "scare" them, so they pay tribute.

majapahit did rule them, by simply killing almody sll the men of fighting age that oppose them with pretty much anything who will make a definition of cruel genocide in 20th century, so everyone else will pay tribute to them...
