Years back when I lived in the boonies of the boonies and was dirt :daisy: poor, it was a ten-kilometer (9.9 to be exact) walk to the store. Laundry in a backpack, walk in, do laundry, get groceries, walk home. And the home trip was uphill. Never got many rides. Half the people wouldn't pick me up because they didn't know me and the other half wouldn't pick me up because they did.
Was poor, but in great shape. I did that walk at least four or five-times a week for about two-years. There were days I walked into town, spent six-hours mowing the lawn at a guy's house, bought groceries with the money, and then walked home. I slept very well.
