need help with EDB? modding..can´t get reform units

in my KH campaign i already defeated SPQR i.e. it doesn´t exist anymore and in another thread asking ´bout the whereabouts of my KH Phalangitai i got the info that without SPQR there will be no march of time hence i can´t get no Phalangitai..(guess also the late BG for all factions dont show up then?.)
didnt know that - and dont look at it as cheat now since this march of time is totally dependent from one faction.

..seems to be some change of condition in EDB or EDU? ..know nothing about that - would be pleased over help for that.

It's fairly easy: open the EDB and find the entries for the KH phalangitai. All you need to do is to remove the "AND marian_reforms" (or something similar) -tag. Remember to make a back-up, though.

thanks, well sounds easy - but: i cannot find an EDB folder ..also dont know what EDB is. when i look into the EB folder (inside the RTW folder) i find edu folder though. one named: mp game edu backup and one: sp game edu backup - in both inside is a export_descr_unit file - seem to be quite similar. could it be that? ..but then: i dont find an entry with "and marian_reforms".

i tried with search function - a lot of results - but most of them nothing to do with the game (just files with same name) - and some results are inside EB/Data/Models_unit ..but CAS files? cannot open them - and also not with the name edb..

..sorry, but im total illiterate reg. pc/software intestines.

EDB = "export_descr_building.txt"
EDU = "export_descr_unit.txt"

Both are inside the EB\data folder, although if you use the trivial script it will replace the EDU (but not the EDB) in the data folder with that from the "sp/mp game edu backup" folder.

Crap, I didn't see this thread. I wrote a very basic guide for you in your other thread, if you need it. The entries you are looking for is 'recruit "hellenistic infantry koinon phalangitai"'. At the end of each line you'll find the condition 'and marian_reforms', which is what you should delete. Remember to make a backup first.

@Paltmull - yes i opened this one in the technical part as well - didnt know before that it´ll turn out to a technical question. answered you in the AAR section for your very good description. it works now! (at least in Athenai i can train them)

@ludens - thanks, i found it now - 13 entries (guess for the 13 provinces where the unit can be trained) and deleted in all the condition - there is an "y8" or "n8" before that condition (left them as they are) - only deleted the "and marian_reforms" and to be sure the space before it.

but dont understand your note reg. trivial script - i click on the show me how button every time while after loading a game - became a natural habit - ..if you mean this by using trivial script?. ..replacing? edu / edb, with wich results?

The Trivial Script isn't something you need to worry about in this case. If you at some point want to edit the EDU, though, you will need to edit the version in the "sp/mp game edu backup" (sp=singleplayer, mp=multiplayer), and not the one in the Data folder.

The trivial script has nothing to do with the EB Script, which is what you activate by clicking the 'show me how' button.

oh, that´s the background script, ok.
don´t know now why to change something in edu - if edit in edb (with the 13 more entries) will do the job.
