College confirmation lost in the mail.
Deadline was three weeks ago, and I sent it before that. They have not received it yet, nor the check that was with it. How else will life :daisy: on me?

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Did you talk to the college?
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Called them yesterday. They told me to send it in again with a note explaining the situation, but made no guarantee they'd accept it. They also cancelled my financial aid yesterday, so...when they get this...I hope I get that back.

Why would they cancel your financial aid?

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Well, I think that they think that I'm not going to go to their college.

But why would they do that? If it got lost in the mail but they know you are coming, why would they cancel it?
Also, isnt there an online system?

Too much staff...too little communication. And they told me explicitly to send by mail. : /
I wonder if they will take e-mail...

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Just keep calling and emailing them. Daily. It will show them you're still interested and intending to go there, and that this situation wasn't your fault and out of your hand. Best of luck Motep.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
As another update: They got a check on the 27th which I cannot honour, but it is still being processed by the admissions office.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.

-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Got the letter from the admissions office today...they dropped me.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Very sorry to hear Motep. Do you have any backup schools, probably too late at this point?
Maybe take some transferable classes at a community college so you can fill some prereqs?
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
It is indeed too late, and I dont know if they would accept transfer credits from an out of state community college.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
I remember you were applying to Yale, so you obviously have the stuff to go to a great school, which is what you will do, even if it is later than you expected.

One can hope. Thank you for your kind words.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
what school did you apply to?
a gapyear can be very educating as well. work and travel is always a great school.
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
Work is the plan. Not like I have travel buddies- as not only am I moving 2000 miles, but all of my friends are off to college or the military- and I dont care to have a lone voyage.
I applied to the University of Washington.

Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
That's a dang shame Motep, but at least you have a viable plan B.
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
I'm sorry you didn't get in but believe me when I say you'll learn far more in one year working than in your whole academic career.
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
This is why I'm glad I never went to university.
-
Re: College confirmation lost in the mail.
this has nothing to do with universities... perhaps if the people at the post office has proper education XD

Couldn't you apply for the spring semester and take summer classes to make up? I remember when I transferred to Penn State back in 06, as long as I had under 18 credits at the time of spring semester, they treated me like a regular incoming freshman.
