It's clear that one's capital is important as a focus of trade, and the place where any new generals, award units, or recuperated units appear.
Does it have any usefulness past that?

- If your capital falls (or an enemy's), is it immediately replaced by some other province, no problem? (except perhaps with trade connections)
- Does it make any difference if you park your (aging, high-level) daimyo there?
AFAIK, if your capitals falls it is replaced by another province without any problem except of course the trade connections.
And parking your daimyo in the capital doesn't make any difference, that's what I've noticed, nothing special.
What about the double recruitment of the capital? Does that move to the new one?

I suppose one can watch what happens to AIs as you take their provinces, to see if there's a pattern... are new generals showing up, and trade focus, the main way to see what's an AIs capital?
