the best of the seven wonders

i find the seven wonders of the world quite useful, and would like to know your personal favourite and why :laugh4:

if i had to say the best wonder is i would say the statue of rhodes, its also the easist one to get.

the island is easy to take, even if you have no interest in takeing greece itself, plus it offers that great 40 % boost to your trade.

for a gamer like me, who focuses on economy as a main stratagey this is incrediably valuable.

the temple of methis( wrong spelling) fairly unsuful, you should be able to control a population withought having to rely on a wonder!- though stacked with the statue of zeus it can give be a big help in controlling those roudy citizens.

the hanging gardens of babelon could be seriousley useful for econimic growth- giving a helpful 20% boost to farming, it could also be a bit of a lifesaver to barbarians and other factions who cant aquire higher farming upgrades.

the pillar/column of alxandra ( i think- near temple of methis) i cant see having any huge benfit, even to someone who relys heavaly on navel strength

finally there is the temple of (?) almost right next to the statue of rhodes, that 20 % off for building upgrades could be useful in the middle and late games but much use in the early game

If you plan on fighting Egypt, the Pyramids are a must. They grant a loyalty bonus for all Egyptian settlements, regardless of culture. You will need this one! The Lighthouse at Alexandria gives a movement bonus to your fleets, with an obvious benefit.

My personal favs are the Statue of Rhodes, and the Temple of Zeus for the same reasons you stated.

I REALLY hate ALL of them.

They offset the game, they are so good that you really have to go after them and the sooner the better, which means that everyone, even germans and steppepeople move south east if they can. The wonders as bonus giving items is hands down the worst feature in RTW.
