Right Back/2nd keeper

I've never played keeper before

Tips?

Angles & timing.

Use your bulk to scare the forwards into submission.

Keeper... damn unlucky.

I was always a left back or central defence. My advice is to be the no-nonsense type defender. Just boot the ball upfield at every opportunity. Hold your ground and don't committ to a tackle unless you have to but if you do then do it right and break their shin bones. That's my style! :cool:

Try to stop the ball as frequently as possible using your face

Tap your posts with your feet or hands every so often, it keeps their position in your mind, don't stray too far out in case you lose sense of where the nets are, rather embarrassing to look back to check and see the ball fly over your shoulder when you weren't looking. Don't go to ground too easily, most common rookie keeper mistake and makes life easy for the opposition, stay on your feet and make him make a decision.

Keeper, you unlucky ..... But they say all keepers are a bit crazy so that'll probably work in your favor.

my advice:
- stay on your feet as long as possible in one-on-ones.
- never hesitate
- make a decision and stick with it for good or for worse
- have a good command of the area. In the box you're the leader of the defence.
- be as itimidating as possible towards attackers, many great keepers were really scary when they went for a ball (khan, Pfaff, ...)

I should point out I will be playing the most at right back (full back I guess not a sweeper)

Full back is easy. I've played full back a lot. Just force the attacker/midfielder to the outside and deny him a chance to get the ball in the box. I hope you're fast though.

Now wingback, that's were skill comes in.

A good full back plays like a wing back anyway.
