Goran Hadzic to join Mladic in The Hague
The last fugitive from ICTY was arrested yesterday in Serbia. There were 161 on the list of war criminals wanted by the ICTY, Hadzic is 161st.
What happens now and what does this mean for the region? Peace, progress, European integrations... ? Is this closure? Can we really put what happened in the past now?
Re: Goran Hadzic to join Mladic in The Hague
The rest of Europe is more concerned with Montary implosion, rathe than what latest mess the Balklands are engaged in.
Closure? Perhaps. But c. 1,000 years of history shows one should never underestimate the ability for further problems.
And as for European integration, now is perhaps not the best time to be thinking of that.

The greatest Serbian in history. More than makes up for scrbrenica and all the other hard-to-pronounce atrocities in the balkans.
In addition to being a semi-god, he also plays football for VĂ¥lerenga.

Serbia must be the country with the poorest sense of timing ever. It starts a series of wars that results in an international boycott just when it has the greatest football players on the planet, set to become Euripean Champions at the very least. It wages war with Mujahedeen a decade before the rest of world discovers these are fighters with an agenda. Serbia takes the most important hurdle for EU membership a decade after it was decided neighbouring almshouses Bulgaria and Romania could join, whereas at the moment all appetite for further enlargement is gone. I bet next decade Serbia will fight a war on terror.
