Decisions after upgrading computer...
I have played Medieval 1&2 as well as Rome to death. I have finally upgraded my computer and should be able to run either Empire or Shogun II. I focus primarily on single player so AI is a big deal. My question is: with all the complaints i have read about Empires AI, should i bother with that game? Is the AI improved in Shogun2?
Just looking for opinions on where to go in terms of Empire, Napoleon, or Shogun2 with a focus on singleplayer experience.
Thanks!
Re: Decisions after upgrading computer...
It depends on what you want out of your game.
Despite the many complaints A quite liked ETW with the right mods. I had a hard time getting into the gunpowder tactics but now I really really enjoy them. Definitely worth considering for the different kind of fighting style, the age of sail battles and the sheer scale of the map.
I didn't play Napoleon but from what I gather it's a somewhat polished version of ETW but on a much smaller scale.
Shogun II can be considered back to the roots of the series. A great game.
Re: Decisions after upgrading computer...
NTW is better than ETW imo. I'm presently playing as the Russians on very hard. I've taken the initial battering and Kutusov is presently basking on the Bay of Biscay coast. Now for those backstabbing British! :whip:
Re: Decisions after upgrading computer...
All of the trouble with ETW was at the initial release.
Most all of the bugs have been hunted down and eliminated.
It is a good game with a better AI than M2TW.
NTW is even better as far as game play goes, though it doesn’t have the grand scale of ETW.
The campaign in Spain is really great and I may have played it more than the others.
They are both well worth the money.
TWS2 is very popular. They seemed to have learned a lot with NTW and improved on it a bit, so all three are good games. You can hardly go wrong with any of them.
