TWS2 RPG starting in Throne Room

Right now the very first Throne Room RPG for Total War Shogun 2 is in the discussion stage.

What is a Throne Room RPG and what does it have to do with Total War games?

They are a special sort of forum game based around a game of Total War. Players have control of an in-game character (previously often, but not always a general). The game save is shared around so that players can move their characters, fight any battles they get in, and so forth.

The in-game actions of the player's character are just part of the game. In addition, players take part in an elective body that meets every ten turns. Here, they vote for any elective positions (for example, many games have had a "chancellor" type position that handled recruitment and captain led stacks, as well as ending each turn and posting the new save), pass edicts requiring the faction to take certain actions within the next ten turn term (for example, deciding who to go to war with, sign trade deals with, etc.), and debate about the direction the faction is taking. Between these meetings and elections, players can also post in the other game threads in the RPG's subforum, either just for roleplaying or writing stories, or continuing debates, addressing why another character took an action they disagree with, or bring up any other in character issue. Much also goes on through private messages, as players' character scheme both with and against eachother, trying to attain titles, plan a coup, or just gain a few allies.

The Throne Room has been host to many RPGs over the last 5 years. King of the Romans is one of the best known, but at any given time there's almost always at least one active game being played (right now there's an Europa Barbarorum game called KOTN). Previous games have all been played with either MTW2 or RTW (usually with a mod) and this will be the first TWS2 RPG here at the Org. Such a drastically different game as the base means a very different take will likely be needed on the game's ruleset and we are currently discussing how we plan on structuring the game and what features to include.
