Israel books
I've decided it's time to educate myself so can anyone recommend a/some books on Israel, the surrounding regions and the forming of the state?
I'd prefer either an unbiaised or two opposing views so I can form my own opinions and ideally on the Kindle.
So, any ideas? And thanks in advance.

Re: Israel books
Be very careful. Israeli books about history written before 80ties are practically censored.
You will not be given ANY good information about Palestinians (expect yells like "they are eating our children").

Feel free to suggest some Krooks, trying to reduce my ignorance and it seems to be the theme of the day

Re: Israel books
Two good ones that cover the greater geopolitical situation surrounding the creation of Israel are Balfour and Weizmann: The Zionist, the Zealot and the Emergence of Israel by Geoffrey Lewis and The Balfour Declaration: The Origins of the Arab-Israeli Conflict by Jonathan Schneer. The Jewish Revolution; Jewish Statehood by Israel Eldad is the essential Zionist manifesto, and Terror Out of Zion: Irgun Zvai Leumi, Lehi, and the Palestine Underground, 1929 1949 by J. Bowyer Bell and The Stern Gang by Frank Cass explain how the Lehi and other militant Zionist groups went about removing Britain from the region in order to form the modern Israeli state.
