Making Saba Playable and Something Else
This is something I've been pondering for a while: how should we go about making Saba a playable faction? If so, what should we focus on to do so?
And a proposal: Would it be unreasonable if I were to do something similar with the Saba to what I intend to do with the Sauromatae, i.e. introduce a lot of units to the MP roster and have it be a separate "Faction"? What I have in mind is creating a "Nabatu" faction to play with, to represent the Arabs.
Re: Making Saba Playable and Something Else
IMO you should just forget about them and make it into some other faction entirely.
Re: Making Saba Playable and Something Else
Or give them their old archers back .

Nah, their unit roster like no other makes the game interesting, I think that each of their units should be buffed. 1 more thing (this is kinda off topic) the Aedui and Averni should have some kind of major difference in their rosters apart form the Averni Nobles (i don't remember their celtic name).
Re: Making Saba Playable and Something Else
The number of armored infantry you can bring IS a major difference.
Re: Making Saba Playable and Something Else
Yeah the rules we last introduced limiting numbers of units in certain price ranges ensure that the Aedui and Arverni play out differently. Arverni are the tank and the Aedui are the "break your opponent as quickly as possible" guys.
