Re: question reg. sreenshots
It's quite simple, really. In that preferences file, look up a line that says something "minimal_ui" (perhaps not exactly like that, since I'm just writing out of memory and don't have the file at hand, but you should know it when you see it). Set that to YES.
Then in game you press F5 to remove the map, F6 to remove the unit orders panel, and F7 to remove the unit cards. You can also press ctrl + F2 to remove the unit info boxes (you know, those boxes that appear when you hover the cursor above them); I find that useful when there's lots of men on the screen.
The suggestion to make sure that "Paused" isn't seen refers to that box that comes up when you pause the battle. The ones I won competitions with (you can see my prizes in the spoiler tag in my signature, except for one which was never made) are all from multiplayer battles and so I could take the pictures while watching replays. That way I can pause the game without the pause box showing up. If you want to take a picture in a campaign battle, my best recommendation, if you can't allocate time to do it as the battle rages on, would be to pause the game first. Then you set up the shot that you want, unpause and immediately take the picture.

Re: question reg. sreenshots
thanks very much Celtic Viking! - just tried all that in a battle.
..i had always set the ui to minimal, though never knew how to hide all the remaining infos.
your recommendation to remove all this while paused and be able set up the shot - thats terrific! :2thumbsup:
..the cursor paused - was a misunderstanding from my side, just ignored the commas. ..the box "paused" of course.
