Moving settlements

Hi All,

I'm new to modding, just trying a few bits out. At the moment I'm trying to move settlements and ports, I've moved the single black dot for towns and white dot for ports in map_regions.tga, but when I run the game nothing moves.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: I have found I can edit it once, but then it seems to use a map from a temporary file somewhere, not sure why it's doing this.

In your campaign folder there's a file called map.rwm. Delete it every time you modify something, the game will regen it. Leaving it there will cause the game to do weird things :D

Also make sure that the place where you're trying to move them can actually have the settlement or port. Sometimes we may end up putting them on a patch of terrain that doesn't support a settlement, or on top of a resource.
