On the Heimstatt unit website, It says that the Hastati Samnitici and Samnitici Milites are recruitable in the southern parts of the penninsula. However in my Makedonia campaign, I cannot recuit the samnite spearmen, but I can recruit the swordsmen. Is this a bug or is the website wrong.
P.S.
I can get the spearmen as mercs but that is more expensive than necessary.
I think only SPQR can recruit them as a "factional" unit, everybody else only as mercenaries...
I know they aren't factional, but I can recruit the Sammite Heavy Infantry in the Southern Italic cities I own and should also be able to get the spearmen in the same places according to the site
Yeah but thats incorrect. The spearmen aren't recruitable in towns for anyone except SPQR.
