That's pretty neat pharoah. Whenever I watch such things however, the fufillment of these model experiments they undertake always seem so far away. :( But here is to progress, anyway.

I enjoyed that video PRII. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I followed it's link and watched a whole bunch of other science videos in the process. You've helped me procrastinate tonight, thank you...

The video starts off talking about space travel, but the cones in the demo are only good for atmospheric propulsion. The guy's description at the beginning says the focused laser superheats the air in the rim of the cone. The experiment is cool, but I don't think this is getting us to Alpha Centauri.
