So who do you think is the best country artist of all time, and what is the best country song of all time?
Personally, I am split between Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, and Johnny Horton.
As far as my favorite song, probably Five Brothers.

I really love Johnny Horton and Marty Robbins, as they are more of Bards than 'Country Singers'. They remind me a lot of Vladimir Vysotsky. And Patsy...well...how could you not love Patsy?

It's a bit like the country version of rap, talking wise and all that. Imho there haven't been any good rappers since Gilles de la Tourette. That crown needs a queen instead. I would argue that Norah Jones isn't real country. I never understood the obsession with Johnny Cash. I honestly hating his singing, and did not like any of his songs but A Man Named Sue. To make it worse, people always call me Johnny Cash because I always dress in all black. (which annoys the crap out of me)
