here's the deal....

This game (EB) has been my regular means of entertainment for a few years now (I am one of the people who don't find the Kamboja description excessive, in fact I’ve enjoyed reading it a few times), and after having completed campaigns with every faction (Sarmatians excluded) I just wish there were more of them. :-) . I do have a sizeable empire with the Sarmatians in a buggy save that crashes when I End Turn, but I really can’t bring myself to start another nomad campaign especially one that includes no reforms, no actual change in the game. The steppes are just too big.
Nomads may not be my thing (not crazy about most barbarian factions either; they are ok), but I enjoyed going through the Partian reforms and how the requirements resembled the actual process, as was the case with the Hay reforms which I thought were genius and well worth playing past the campaign’s end.
Looking back I really cannot decide which faction I enjoyed playing the most. At any rate Baktria, Hayasdan and the AS are probably really up there, but I would have a hard time explaining why Pontus, KH, Epeiros, Macedonia, Carthage, Ptolemies or even Rome, Parthia and the Lusotannan aren’t at the top of my list…. because they totally deserve to.
And here is the deal… I can convince myself to revisit some completed campaigns for some empire fine tuning, but the truth remains: I am overwhelmed with anticipation for both EBNOM and EB2. Either one will do.
I regret that I do not have the skills-set to participate in the modding process, because I’d love to contribute and I am sure it would be fun. But then much of the surprise and amazement would not be there for me when the mod launched.
Anyway, thanx again to all the very talented, dedicated and hard working teams and individuals whose effort has made this possible and more yet to come.
