I would do it, but the appearance of the game just isn't all that good on my system even though I have unit textures on 'Ultra' and details on 'Extreme'. I'm having a real problem with the shadows, and maybe it's down to the older shader model my card uses (9600GT 1Gb).
Here's some Arverni units as an example of what my graphics look like under very favorable lighting conditions (image quality reduced 15% for size) -

If these look OK I can post more tomorrow...
Thanks for sharing mate these look just fine. I hear that many peole are having graphical issues, i saw a few shots at twc and the units looked like ghouls, so in comparison yours are great and more is always welcomed :laugh4:
Why don't game designers ever realize that spec effects have to be subtle or they will ruin your game!
Not screenshots but it looks like a fun MP match in Rome 2.
Graphics on mostly low though, it's AggonyDuck vs the Prince of Macedon. Seems like AggonyDuck was use to active a lot at the .Org.

SPOILER:
AggonyDuck wins
Edit: seems like the embed option still doesn't work for me though it worked before...
Posted on a mobile device. ;)
Yeah, like I said I tried to put them in the most favorable light. You can see that in some of the action shots 'the darkness' is creepin' in. Here are the rest of the Arverni units available at game start in Custom Battles (excluding artillery) with unit cards;

Thanks for sharing mate. I have been reading that the worst graphical issues are seen in amd systems. If thats right than I am screwed as I use amd bulldozer 8 core. Well i will lear in 3–4 days i guess..
Yeah, I've read the same things. Yet I'm running it on an old Athlon II 4 core believe it or not and it runs surprisingly well. Hopefully this first round of patches smooths out a lot of the issues.
Spartan Pikemen with and without pikes, depending on formation (I find this pretty annoying :D )

Yeah it's lame, so far every 'pike' unit I've used does this. I have to set them to phalanx for the pikes to magically appear. Of course the AI doesn't even bother with that and just sends them into battle with their swords against rows of opposing pikes :dizzy2:
Can't wait to try out the Averni! They look awesome compared to the Romans. Plus they got trousers. :2thumbsup:
(Romans look much worse imo in this game compared to mods for M2TW and Rome)
I kept thinking the Romans looked horrible until I realised the game was doing its trick where it tells me I have high texture settings but it really is just poop. They don't actually look that bad but I have no idea about history and stuff. All I have is this Hollywood-esque picture of what everyone's supposed to look like. I was even surprised when I saw that Spartans weren't naked! ^^
Did Roman's really run around without trousers during winter and such?
I believe they don't run around in winter like that. Think they get some winter kit with thin pants or something that reach a little more down than the knees.
Though later on trousers were adopted by many Roman units and you get to see Romans in pajamas in Germania fighting bands of Alemani. Kewl stuff. :clown:
No they had a type of breeches. I can't for the life of me find the name for them though. But I do know that you can see Titus Pullo (and Vorenus too) wearing them in Rome.
Which I just found a pic of:Attachment 10698
Dumb question:
Can you take screenshots via "print screen" or do you need FRAPS?
F12, Steam stores your screenies though Fraps has better quality as you can save bmp and such.
Any time my friend.
No problem mate, I'll try to help if you got any other questions.
(Miami? Hmmm I'm in Jacksonville as of now)
Everything I know about Florida I learned from Florida Man.
Since I can't afford the game and my computer can't run it, I was hoping someone could post screenshots of the Parthian Units and if possible the Seleucid and Bactrian units, thank you.
Here are some of Parthia. I pulled all these from a Custom Battle, so I presume they all can be recruited.

Very nice! So many people are posting about Sparta or Rome, glad to see some Parthia here!
Nice screens phred! Those conehead Royal Cataphracts get me every time :laugh4:
Hey if you hit 'K' (by default) it removes the entire user interface. Very cool feature, I've started fighting a lot of battles like this, even though it somewhat limits the commands you can give cuz they removed so many hotkeys. If you use that along with riding with the unit cam on your general for long periods, it gives the game an incredibly realistic feel at times, it's pretty crazy.
I also think it's awesome that the game doesn't record your cursor during screen shots, even when using an external program like Fraps. Is this new to R2? Can't remember if that was true for S2 for example.
