RE: TW: Rome 1. Is it possible to unlock the full battle map?

If you click "Show settlement details" and select "show settlement on battle map" you can go down and view the city (best feature of any Total War IMHO).

I noticed that you can see other settlements and other things within the game (for example: Temple at Ephesus, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus and Statue of Rhodes are visible from Halicarnassus).

What I want to know is whether or not it is possible to remove the lock, which is preventing you from going beyond a certain distance from the settlement, and go up to these locations.

If there is such an option, it will be in preferences.txt. However, I am pretty sure there isn't. The game only loads the graphics required for the city/site of battle. If you go beyond that, weird things will happen to the graphic engine. Also, there probably won't be detailed graphics for these monuments anyway. Just low-res structures meant to be viewed from a distance.
