Traits not showing up..?

I have married excellent princesses to several of my generals now and it has had no effect on them. The princesses were over five hearts, were intelligent, attractive, and humble, but these traits never showed up in there husbands traits as 'Wife is charming', 'Wife is useful', etc. It's been many turns now. Why is this?

Also, when I tried to use a console command to make a princess more charming, the heart count changed, but the trait never showed up in her trait list. Why is this and how can I fix it?
