Windows 10 issues
I just bought a new computer with Windows 10. Rome 1 installed fine, but I can't open it. If I don't run as administrator, it tells me to. If I do, it just won't open. Anybody have any suggestions? I am not using Steam, I am using version 1.5 of the game.

Re: Windows 10 issues
Don't have Win10, don't plan on having it anytime soon so can't help there. This should probably be in the main RTW Forum rather than here in the Guides Forum:shrug:

Yeah, I wasn't sure where to put this thread.

Re: Windows 10 issues
(I did this with Windows 7, but it should work with 8 and 10) You need to find your installed windows updates in your control panel. Find security update KB3086255 and uninstall it. KB3086255 was an update that intentionally broke SecuROM and SafeDisc CD-ROMs. Once the computer restarts, turn off automatic updates to prevent the computer from reinstalling the update every time it starts up.

If the above does not work, you may want to check out this thread: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...-in-Windows-10
Basically, Windows 10 removed SecureROM and Safedisc capability, so you can no longer play RTW from the game disc. However, I have had success inputting the game code into Steam. Also, the game seems to run fine even in offline mode.
