installing 2.2d2 issue on Mac

Hello,

I'm using the Feral Interactive/Steam version of Medieval 2 on a Mac. EB v2.2b works, was installed using wine and I'm starting the game using the "--features.mod=mods/ebii" launch option, directly from Steam. The game is installed in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Medieval II Total War. The error log doesn't work, it looks like Feral creates an error log in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Feral Interactive/Medieval II Total War/VFS/Local/system.log.txt each time I run the game, but it's always empty. I installed v2.2d2 following the instructions, the version number in the game menu changed from 2.2b to 2.2d, but the game crashes when I click Grand Campaign.

Does anyone know how to enable the error log on Mac?

In the game menu, the army march animation shows medieval units. Is that expected for EBII or my 2.2b install is incorrect?
