Saw some posts stating that the master-bower does not add +1 valor bonus to pavise arbalesters. It is actually not entirely true: just send the fresh pavise recruits through the training camp again and they come out with +1 valor the next year. Of course, this effectively makes pavise arbalesters a two-year training unit rather than 1-year.
Similarly, janissary archers can be retrained to gain +1 valor bonus through retraining.
