Biggest and Worst Revolts Ever?

I am England and my (mighty) empire stretches accross the northern coasts of Europe, through Russia and down to Spain. However, Germany is the 2nd most powerful country and it decides to attack me around 1280. Ok seems to be no problem, I can fight them off. Then the Alohomads re-appear. And then the Russians. AND then to top it off about half my provinces are suddenly full of rebels, either aligned with the new factions or going it alone. Stupid game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/argue.gif

it's built in to the ai, whenever you get an edge, the game starts throwing you curve balls... your just gonna have to deal with it m8, happens all the time, wait until you get a civil war.. doesn't happen often but when it does. man

try not to have your king trapped in an island or something. If the king is cut of from some lands then these lands will usually revolt.

Also, check your tax levels, BDC. There were reports that setting high taxes (or using auto-tax which gives the same) ultimately stokes up mass rebellions. I tend to play with normal taxes now.

I've yet to have a rebellion/civil war/faction reappearance that I couldn't explain. In the last 5 or 6 campaigns I've done I can't recall having any of the above happen to me with a single explainable exception: when the Mongols invaded I got a message about a rebellion in Georgia--despite knowing it had well over 100% loyalty that turn. The rebels were Mongols as I recall--not much of a surprise... If you are having spontaneous rebellions, civil wars, and faction reappearances then you most likely are overlooking something.

But yeah, my King was in Wessex so I moved him to the continent and viola, only Britain and Russia rebeled.

I just had about 3500 Scotts try and revolt against the king. Luckily they were mostly peasants and didn't present much of a problem. 2000 Dead and 1000 Captured. I even let the prisoners live.

But they were Scottish http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wink.gif Anyway one of my heirs and a single Royal Knight bodyguard (during the Early period) killed 60 Scots before being sliced to pieces. Teach him to be disloyal to his King and father.

I once saw a single Kataphractoi(man, not unit) kill more than 250 Egyptians before he fell.

Of course, he was an 8-star general...

Mine was in Portugal. Those Portugese don't take kindly to outside invaders. About 3k or so in a revolt. Not just peasants and militia sergeants either.

haha...te other day i come into my room adn i find my 10 year old sister playing mtw on my comp...she was playing a previously saved game that i had where i was ruling about 60% of the world, spain france italy african coast middle east, and asia minor etc...then i look at the map...almost all is gone, i have a few provinves left and all the rest our rebels...i still have no idea what she did to get tht bad rebellions:p

Valid points about revolts but not always the case. My Khan is central we are the richest faction with the largest army and my provinces are on low tax. With very little of the map left to take..ie Italy and Morrocco, the Sultan had just fallen in Egypt http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wink.gif I suddenly get about 10 revolts in loyal provinces some of with have resident 8 star generals. This does seem odd.
Next time I get a civil war I am going to split my campaign, using the save feature. One I will continue as the rebels the other as the loyalists and see who is more successful

These are very terrible,i was playing the elmos and when i capped their @$$ and garrisoned it with a huge army,they revoltedi tried everything,imams,huge garrison and even building mosques and forts.but none workedthey kept resisting,i kept resisting too,until i got a 10 star general and retreated.that was awesome.

taking Castile, i held it for 2 years and a loyalist revolt happened. Foot Knights, Crosbowman, and Knights Templar, over 2k of them the most difficult rebelion i ever fought. i won but my heir was KIA.

Im the turks and my empire takes up about one third of the map, it goes down, the south of the mediteranean, and ive taken half of Spain, and this one province wont stop rebelling, every year, they attack. Fortunately, my Jannisarys waste all of them, and lose few men, but its really annoying.

I was the Byz and had 2 territories to conquer before total domination. I was kinda down about it, huge armies and no one to fight. Then, I had my 1st civil war I had almost the whole world, huge armies, and I lost half of them. I loved it I had a problem with it however. I had an enormous amount of florin right before the civil war. I chose to fight for the rebel side (they were out numbered), but I got to keep my huge warchest of florin. The loyalist had Const, which was the seat of my Empire. I felt like the majority of the florin should have stayed there with the loyalist, and I, as a rebel, shouldn't have had access to it.

Worst revolt I've seen was when about 3 factions reappeared within my lands in one year. Happened to me in Shogun as well.. I had half the world, and 3 factions reappeared within my lands totally destroying my chances http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif

I played my 1st campaign as the Turks. The Byz were the most loyal of allies, from the 3rd year of the game up until 25 years after the Horde appeared. By then I had The Mideast, Africa, Spain, France, England, and Scandinavia, while the Byz had Italy, and all the Northeastern territories. We both had huge navies, and armies, though he had a tough time with the Horde. Then, I lost 22 of my 30 ships in one turn due to a Byz sneak attack. My empire was instantly cut off from my King, and MASSIVE revolts in most of my Eurpoean provinces appeared. One French province has 9500 rebels Even though I has over 2 million florin in the bank, with no trade to fun my massive armies, after 20 years of fighting, I was broke, after 20 more, I was deep in to debt (even though I was getting 16,000 florin per turn, my expenses were 27,000 a turn). I disbanded all my low end soldiers, and hit the rebels to get some quick cash, but it wasn't enough.

I was beaten, not with the sword, but with the florin. The Byz, except for naval attacks, never hit me with any of thier armies. They cut off my cash flow, and watched me die slowly. I had to admire that. It was a good game.

revolts in 20 territorys, about 1/3 of my land, with 3000 men attacking in each territory, and it wasnt any peasant revolts

I was playing a French campaign the other night and I had just taken all egyptian territories including the turkish penninsula. I had ships the whole way and I had great loyalty after a few years with large garrisons. Well the Huns attacked my ships at gibralter with their only ship, a 3 star barque, and cut off my king (in Provence) from S. Africa. Well I have 0 loyalty on very low taxes all over the place. Fortunately I had several full stacks there. I massed them in a few key provinces and let the others rebel. The egyptians reappeared with about 10,000 troops in 5 provinces. It took me awhile to recapture that area. Great fun.

Early, normal, as Spanish. Myself and the Aragonese started up to smash the Almohads. I defeat a major army in Cordoba and a smaller one in Portugal and settle in to siege, while my buddies take Valencia from the infidel. Abruptly, a three-stack loyalist revolt, composed entirely of Ghulam bodyguards and Murabitin infantry pops up in Valencia. At this point, I crapped myself. I risk a 7% chance of revolt in Portugal to reinforce my position in Castile, which I really can't afford to lose.

Next turn--three stack AUM/Murabitin/Ghulam revolt in Portugal. I should point out, by the way, that the largest 'real' army the Almohads had mustered up to that point was a double stack with half of them peasants (the army I liquidated in Cordoba). But, due to loyalist revolts, they abruptly emerged in command of the largest army in the world. I quit two turns later.

Even though it was only one province, I had a rebellion last night in Greece that almost destroyed me. I am playing on Early Hard as the mighty Italians. I have pushed my way over to the Balkans since the poor Hungarians were destroyed by the Turks. I send a naval force into Greece with a good sized army in it and destroy the Infidels. Two turns later an Orthodox revolt occurs (it had been Byzzie for about 75 years) and I see 4 full stacks standing there. I am not worried, however, since when this happens, it is usually just a major pile of peasants. I confidently move my Doge and his army of Italian Infantry, Genoese Archers and Royal Knights into the province to help the garrison put down the rebellion ( I needed the Butcher virtue). They do not attack me the first turn, both armies just sit there and stare at each other while a Turkish fleet sinks my only way out. I look at the stacks to see what my victims will be and like what I see in the first two stacks, all peasants. 32 of them. I look at the other 2 stacks and it is NOT what I want to see. 16 Pronoai Allgrion (sp?) in one stack and 6 VGs and some archers in the other stack. By the time the battle is over, my King is dead, along with 3/4 of his heirs and the rest are captured an executed. My reign is over since my new king has a 1 influence and the rest of my provinces go into an open revolt. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/mecry.gif
