I was playing Oda in the 1580 campaign and Imagawa attacked Owari. No problem, set up defense and waited. Imagawa placed archers on each flank and lined up a melee unit assault column ending at the village area _between_ the bridges on the attacker side.
My shiny new muskets got to shoot the crap out of two of his archers, but otherwise, nothing happened. Time expired and I won. Well, I ran the daiymo over the bridge and took a few heads off one of his other archer units, this provoked movement from his assault column.
I then created a custom battle in Owari with AI attacker. Same thing. I ran a kensai across the right bridge (from defender POV) and provoked 1! YS to march out of the column and come to the bridge where it died under the spears of a YA after being shot up a bit. Rinse, repeat. Same thing, one YS came out, and when it got close to the bridge, tried to cross. The rest of the army just sat there.

Yes AI in Owari is very stupid even before the expansion. (Now seems they got even worse with the new calculation)
As attackers they only attack over one bridge. Being defenders, they tend to run here and there and ended up at the center, surrounded by our men crossing both bridges.

Yep, I'm used to the one bridge attack problem, I've gotten NIs (Naginata Infantry http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif) behind it more than once to trap the last big push on the bridge for a while.
This time it just formed the standard assault column _between_ the bridges and refused to attack either bridge.

1580 Tokugawa (using Imagawa color) is correct. Tokugawa had been a vassal of Imagawa, and declared independence when Oda killed Yoshimoto at Okehazama, and then proceeded to slowly absorb Imagawa's old lands. As far as I can tell, the campaign map setups in the various time settings are historically correct this time. The only grossly off one is the original Sengoku Jidai setup.
(Takeda in the middle of Mori's lands? Motonari wouldn't have liked that much..)

Then you cannot explain the co-existance of Tokugawa and Imagawa between year 1562 and 1570 (?) Ieyasu declared his independence and started to attack Imagawa Ujizane. I don't think putting them under the same color and even the same family crest is a good idea. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Now this may be a bug
a really really really annoying bug
OK i turned TIMER OFF in options and started an ODA campaign in 1560
about ten or so years into the campaign Imagawa send an invasion force of some 1200 into Owari where i have 2 archers, 3 arques, 3 ashis, 1 nagi and 1 yari sam, in all 480 men
Now as soon as the battle starts Imagawa sends over a unit of 10(!) heavy cav. I presume they were former hatamoto. They are killed easily by my ashis while my guns watch helpless in the rain. After this the Imagawa line up archers in a defensive stance with yari support behind them on their side of the river. As attacker they do nothing. I set the timer to fast and still nothing. I go downstairs and come back up 2 hours later and still they have not attacked and i am Defender!!! quitting means i lose and because the timer is not on i am forced to charge across the bridge and engage them (dont forget 180 of my 480 men are guns useless in the rain) I barely win and even more luckily manage to wipe out the reinforcements. Bu this is not fair. I was defender not attacker. Surely the option to turn off the timer is somewhat ruined in this manner by `cheating` daimyos. its not as if i can wait him out now is it?
