The Daughter of Time is by Josephine Tey, actually a mystery writer, but in this book she explores King Richard III (of Shakespeare, among others, fame) and his supposed murder of his nephews. It is nicely written and told by means of a bored Scotland Yard detective laid up in the hospital. He becomes fascinated by a portrait of Richard and investigates his life.
Bascially the book tries to clear Richard of wrongdoing in his nephew's deaths and instead blame his successor Henry VII. I really don't know much about English history and was wondering if someone who had read the book, or is familiar with the topic, could shed some light on this issue: was Richard guilty or wasn't he"
