Grell has found the following fix to some of the odd incorrect country listings we sometimes get with diplomacy messages in VI's MTW 2.0. Here is his explanation. I plan to test it tonight:
OK as a modder i was testing my own mod (obviously better than CA tests its own game ) and I realised that there is an error in the official file loc/eng/Default_Region_Specific.txt. Where it reads:

it should instead read:
